The Massassi MMORPG...

GOOD NEWS PEOPLE: I just have found the original source code to engine, now I'am going to program it to be better then what I have, although this will take more time. Maybe I'll release the compiled modifiable engine just to start making people happy, while I work on making a new compiled version. Good, now that I have a good totally modifiable base, I can start making this game, and the best part is I don'r hav't to depend on what I can modify to someones compiled version of the engine. :D :D :D

Not true at all. Using a licensed anything without permission opens up the chance that you'll get shut-down.

If that's true they would have shut me down years ago, and they would have shut down all associations like this one

+1 for Other. I wrote a screenplay that would work for a good MMO. It was a war between the UN and the UHE (<--abrv. for name of opposing faction that I came up with). You could have different classes and even a neutral element. With there already being a screen play (and several "episodes" that I wrote later), there would be plenty of story driven material to go off of.

They can shut down tf.net whenever they like. They don't because in general it helps Lucasfilms, not hurt.

If they were to start claiming stuff as their own, and really tearing apart Star Wars, they'd shut em down.

Who ever mentioned about claming stuff as my own? And I have seen Star Wars stuff been torn apart so bad, would you want to kill the people who did it even if you weren't a Star Wars fan, and LOTR stuff as well, and we got no complaints or anything.

I'm just saying it's a possibillity. Look at Bid For Power, and the Middle Earth Mod for Morrowind, they got shut down and were only mods.

Avoid using 1, 2 and 4 - 8 to avoid any possible lawyer trouble.

WTF?
1.- Massassi, and I'm sure Brian would love an MMORPG of this place

2.- There are already a few of these, yet very hockey.

8.- Those aren't trademarks, just as much as ghost is.

George Lucas owns all rights to the Massassi name. The Massassi Temple was the location of the Rebels' hidden base from which the Death Star attack was launched in A New Hope. As much as we would all be pleased to have a Massassi theme, you can bet your buttons the heavy hand of George Lucas will put a stop to your project should you proceed with the idea.

How many times must we say that it doesn't matter? Honestly, I doubt they will care though but you can never be sure with Lucas related anything

I have made free Star Wars games, and never got in trouble.
In fact, there are a few out there that never got in any hassle. And it won't matter, cause I'm promoting his stuff anyways.

You're still missing the point. That point isn't that you're guaranteed to get in trouble, the point is that there is a chance whether or not you're willing to admit it.

And what about those sites that give out SNES Star Wars games, with emulators? They never go down ever.
