I would give my kids stupid names like Count Chocula Jr. so the kids at school can make fun of them and be like "Ha ha, Count Chocula is your dad", but I'm not really.

From the looks of it, there's going to be a rash of girls named Jade. She'll probably grow up to resent you all.

Boy: Dante. It's just a cool name and I don't want my son to miss out on what I did (My parents were this close to naming me Dante)

Girl: I've no idea. Though I once herd some MIT people talking about a new baby girl. One of them was saying he was trying to convince his wife to name her "Elsif"

Actually, that's a really nice name.

I despair of the brainiacs, I really do. :(
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

I look at this site a lot when naming characters in RPGs, MMOs, etc. It has a ton of awesome names in multiple categories.

If I were ever to want a kid (I don't think I'm at all ready yet) I would want to adopt. I'm not looking for immortality (which never works through procreation anyway, your kid != you) and there are lots of kids out there who need a home. For that reason, I'd probably not get to name another person... but usually I like names based on their meanings, like Sophia means wisdom, Phoebe is bright and pure, etc. Of course you can't dictate that your kid's personality adheres to the name you give them, which is why I use the names for my own game characters where I have that kind of control (Sophia is my Breton mage in Morrowind).
