I always pictured Marvin to look kind of like one of these:

Personally I like the Marvin design.
But did anybody else wonder what the heck was going on at the end of the trailer? With the paddles to the face?

ANd the clock in the very first part read 7:42 :D Not sure if it was planned like that or not.

I wouldnt be surprised if there's 42 references to the number 42, or something like that...

No... earth gets destroyed at the BEGINNING. In the PROLOGUE. Earth doesn't really have any signifigance or importance so they just blow it up ASAP to move the REAL story along. ;) :p

no, thats called stereotypes. white people can do, act, have the same opinions/ideas, and generally like things that the public has labeled as 'things that black people like', and vice versa.

unless adams went out and said "ford is black" (which wouldnt make sense... he's... beatlegeusean) then you cant say that.

  • Magrathea looks AWESOME.
  • Zaphod's third arm was rather bizarre. It just looks abnormal. I like it.
  • I hope to GOD we get Vogon Poetry.
  • Who is the Giant Ford is talking to about a third or midway through the trailer?
  • Does anyone else laugh everytime Arthur hits his head on the pipe at the very beginning?
  • I couldn't tell because of the poor video quality, but was that the Heart of Gold being attacked by a Vogon Constructor Ship?
  • You see two missle streaking towards the Heart of Gold near the end, I hope that means we get the whale and the bowl of petunnias.

I can't wait for this movie... It seriously looks to be awesome, and even if it isn't as good as the radio series or the books, it still might be a fun ride.

Rumor has it the giant chick is "Eccentrica Gallumbits, the triple-breasted whore of Eroticon 6" from the books.
And it has the whale, they have a voice actor for it.

Oooh, and did anybody see Elvis in the trailer? I think its him near the end, its only for a second in the blinking green lights. Hehehehe

Here's a better quality version of the Trailer .

... and some useless trivia. Douglas Adams came up with '42' as it's the height of the bar at his local pub.

The quality of that one seems to be about the same as the other one... I didn't notice a major difference at any rate.

Exactly, despite all the people saying "omq leik here is a reesun hee choosed forty too!1" He said (at least in one of those big collectors things) that he was strapped for an idea, and one day in the garden said "I know. 42!"
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

Raynar, yes I already posted that :p

And that's cool about the bar

42 hasn't helped me in any way yet, except that it's between 41 and 44. urr... 43.

Vogon Poetry. Nothing else would seem to fit the way the scene looks. It flashes past VERY quickly towards the end of the trailer.
