I seriously doubt you can back up that statement about animals not having feelings.

I briefly worked in a small abattoir. It's not that uncommon to find after slaughtering that what was thought just to be a very fat ewe turns out to be pregnant. So collecting the hide from the foetii doesn't seem particularly barbaric.

The truth is, I'm not quite sure why many humans lack the ability to feel compassion for living beings other than themselves or those outside of their species, but I hope and pray that they're one day able to overcome their deficiency.

Oh good god: Just because we're not OMG TEH BUNNIES!!!11 doesn't mean we're stupid (which is what you're insinuating). I don't care because they're just animals. As Elana said, they feel, but for the most part, their feelings are very limited. Mostly it's fear, hunger, and...well that's about it. Especially in the animals killed for fur.

Now is killing ENDANGERED animals for fur, etc, wrong? Yes. Is killing some common animal for fur that bad? Not so much, really. Not to me at least.

I do not, however, condone the skinning of animals alive at all.

I am not against the humane killing of animals for food and leather and clothes and things, although this is almost invariably not the case.

I am against the inhumane keeping of animals (i.e. veal) and killing for sport (which is any situation in which the animal is not eaten as an alternative to store-bought food). Indeed, I believe hunting for food is morally superior to buying mass-produced goods.

Also, that PvP is hilarious. I love the last panel.
