Kirby.... there is no way that is 3D...

Promblems 1-3

1. If you brighten up your screen, you will see that the "light" just stops, it doesn't fade into darkness.. if it were a 3D object, it would fade to dark, not have a crisp line...

2. if it were a reflection of the person taking the picture, the flash would be coming from the dark half of the face (cause the camera would be over it...) Yet you can not see the flash anywhere around the face (it's way off to the left of the face)...

3. if it was someone outside, the dark half of the face would be the side that is lit up, not the lit side.... The flash would be casting light on the wrong side of the face...

Solution:

What happened is someone walked up to the glass, turned their head sideways, and pushed it agenst the glass... that would explain the smashed nose and distorted lips. it is the side of someone's face.. just imagine how ROUND the head would be if the whole thing was lit (if it WERE infact looking forward).. it IS a face smudge. (and you say that she cleans the glass weekly, or every few days.. Now we not only know it is a face smudge, but we also know that it had happened with in a few days of the picture being taken! WHOOPIE!)

The light would be on the correct side in that image: A light being shown on the other side of an object doesn't light things behind it. The flash would be eminating from the camera, which would shield the half of the face being covered.

Someone should do an experiment. I'm going to go smudge my face against some glass, take a picture, and see if I can get the same results.

Kirby, I agree, if the flash was on the dark spot side of the face..... since it is not... that means that the flash isn't coming from the darkspot of the face (the camera) hence there is no lightshielding for that side of the face... the flash is so far away from the face that you can't even see it in the picture... yet the further side of the face is lit up.... it is not a face.. it is Definately a smudge.. no one will EVER convince me otherwise

His mind is more open then most of yours. He stated a logical solution to a picture. He claimed it was a smudge, he then stated why..he didn't say "It must be a ghost because this proves they exsist! You know my auntie once saw a ghost!"
Think while it's still legal.

how can I NOT be closed minded about it?! it's OBVIOUS. if it's obviously something... then it must be something... that's like taking a picture of a tree, and saying it's not a tree.. and when someone says "that is def. a tree, and you can't convince me otherwise" you say they are "closed minded"... No.... that is stupid...

Okay, I will show you the picture, but I have to black out the faces so i dont get yelled at by them. I can also post a pic that was taken just a few moments before where you can see the person taking the picture in the reflection, before he turned on the camera flash, you will be able to see how it is impossible for it to be the picture takers face because of how the face is positioned behind the camera.

Might take me about 5 mins for me to get them up.

And here are the results: I smudged my face on the window and took pictures from a few angles. Does it explain the original picture? You'll have to judge for yourself.

Well, the first one is at more of an angle, and you can hardly see it.

You could not be close-minded about it in the same way as anyone else, i'm not close-minded about it so evidently it must be possible.

What I think:
- I'm very skeptical about ghosts, i'd need to see some pretty strong evidence to believe in them.
- This only leaves us with "logical" explanations.
- A Smudge is one possible explanation, personally I don't think it looks like a smudge or an imprint of a face against the window.
- To me it looks more like someone being creepy outside or an unusual lighting affect from someone else in the room, although probably not the cameraman (one would expect him/her to have his/her face to the camera).

Okay, these are at roughly 1024x768 or that general res, the originals are over 2800xsomething... if anyone wants the originals i might e-mail, but only if you can take me a little more seriously. I saved these with 10 quality (photoshop jpeg, 10 of 12 for filesize)

Pic one (before the flash was turned on):

Pic Two (after flash was turned on, the pic with the wierd figure..)

As you can see from the top pic, by my dads reflection in the glass, you can see where the camera is over his face, he was the only one there when he took these pictures. (The only one standing where he was, not the only one at the house, im sure someone would point out my little sisters head in the bottom corner of the one picture.) More thoughts?

Why is there no flash in the first picture?

[Shut up.]

<@Vinny> Look closely in the first pic
<@Vinny> You can see the lip smudges
<@Vinny> or something
<@Vinny> on the back of the guy's head in the reflection

if u brighten up the "Dark" picture, you will see what looks like a semicircular highlight curve behind the guy's head (it looks like the guy has a pony tail) it is my belief that this is part of the smudge..

I posted while u were editing your post.. :)

Outlined for clarity in this pic..

while that is convincing.. its still strange that it came out the way it did... heh, oh well, either way makes for an interesting sight. I just dont know who could have left that smudge, i dont think its a face smudge, but maybe a smudge from something.

Clearly it's a face smudge from the man who watches you at night. Intently.

Your dad looks like Hannibal Lecter; I'd be more worried about that.

Ponder this my friends - The two shots were obviously taken only a few seconds apart. How do you know the ghost wasn't standing there for BOTH shots, and that's why he appears in the first shot as well as the second one.

There ya go - MYSTERY RE-OPENED!!! MUHAHAHAHAH!!

Your girlfriend has a weird shaped ear.

As for ghosts, I am unconvinced that they exist.

I own furniture that people have died in. Nothing strange ever happened.

I've hung out in the graveyard not too far from here in the dead of night... and have never seen anything in the 6 years or so I've been going there to chill.

I live less than a block away from where one of those "see the city" tower things used to be. Basically just a spiral staircase with a little room on top that you can see alot of the city from. They tore it down because people would CONSTANTLY break the windows out and commit suicide off of the thing...

Mind you, this was a LONG time before I was born... but I've never seen anything over there either.
