I just finished watching Life Is Beautiful, the Italian film with Roberto Benigni that deservedly won several Oscars a couple years back.

It made me cry. One of the few movies to make me do so.

So.... which movies have made YOU cry?

we had something similar to this not too long ago.

Schindler's list.

well.. I'm pathetic. I almost cried watching The Matrix the other night. (the first one, at the part right after Neo dies, and he's coming back to life)

Closest i've come to crying during a movie was when I was watching The Passion of the Christ. That and Spiderman 2, when the little girl pulls Peter Parker up out of the hole in the ground to rescue him in the burning building, I have no idea why that moved me.

I watched Requiem for a Dream the other day, and I pretty much was crying for the last half hour.

The scenes with Sara toward the end are the ones that really get me emotional. And then the crazy climax sequence really messes me up in the head and gets more tears flowing. And then at the very end, when Sara's friends are crying on the bench.... :(

I cried at Passion of the Christ... that's the only time I've ever *actually* cried.. But I've come close on a lot of other movies also, wierd ones you wouldn't expect, just like The Matrix, ie, Forrest Gump, Spiderman (1 and 2), The 5th Element (don't ask), Return of the King... are ones that come to mind right now.

I don't know what it is... I guess I'm just a sappy sentimentalist at heart.

I get weirdly emotional at bits in random movies too... I teared up at least twice in RotK when I saw it the first time.

Eternal Sunshine
LOTR ROTK (end scene with Frodo and Sam)
Schindlers List
The Passion (sobbed)
City of Angels (now I dont, when it first came out I did)

hmm drawing blanks, I know I've cried watching other movies. Just depends if they are touching or not

I don't really cry at movies, but I came very very close while watching Grave of the Fireflies. That is the saddest movie I've ever seen.

I cried at the end of Terminator 2.

And I cried when Bubba died on Forrest Gump, and at the end of Forrest Gump.

I actually just finished watching Forrest Gump. Didn't make me cry though. Actually I don't think I've ever had a movie make me cry before.

Fellowship of the Ring, when Boromir dies. ROTK wasn't so sad for me, though. Maybe it was too packed with action.

It's indeed a very sad and touching movie.

I remember I cried for like 30 minutes after I saw The Perfect Storm for the first time.

A couple days ago I saw the Korean movie Tae Guk Gi (The Brotherhood of War) and man... I actually cried. I don't really ever cry so it suprised me.

[edit: A tear fell from my eye at the end of The Last Samurai, and that Italian movie mentioned in the first post was really touching. I don't remember if I cried, though.]

I remember crying (I think) after Life is Beautiful when I was little. I'm scared of that movie now because it's so sad!

I also cried at the end of Pay it Forward when I was a kid. Not sure if I did or not.

A couple of days ago I was on the verge of crying (only because I was trying not to) watching Finding Neverland. That was a beautiful, wonderful movie.

Come to think of it, I saw both Pay it Forward and Finding Neverland on a plane. Hmm...

A Perfect World, the end especially. I haven't seen it in a long time so I don't know if I'd cry now or not, though.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

It didn't make me "cry", but The Elephant Man left me stunned for a couple of hours. That's probably the closest that any movie has come.

Utterly gut-wrenching. A superb film really, unjustly criticised.

Probably the most suicide-inducing film I've ever seen. Not exactly touching, just depressing.

Am I the only person who was glad when he died? I thought the character was a complete prick. Perhaps I just missed the point of the character, or maybe I just don't like Sean Bean.

ok, here's my list:

Life is Beautiful - not so much the end when he is shot, but when he is carrying the boy through the fog and he walks up to the huge pile of clothes outside the gas chamber.

Top Gun - when Goose dies, duh. actually not, it's when Goose wants to keep playing Volleyball and Maverick takes off and Goose says "One more game. For me?" I used to watch this movie a lot when I was younger, but it was only in the past two years when the emotion of that scene has impacted me. That scene means more when you've seen the movie before.

Schinder's List - just an awfully depressing movie all around

Saving Private Ryan - "Earn this."

28 Days Later - Frank's Death , really just more of a misty eye thing because I knew one of them was going to get it.

there's a couple of others. The Passion really didnt make me cry as it disgusted me.

Blair Witch Project - when I realized how much time, effort, and money was wasted on such utter crap. And the time and money wasted by people watching it.

I also cry every time I see Jar Jar Binks butchering up... well... basically everything even remotely related to Star Wars.
