Why didn't the kid just get the exam off of the computer and then light it on fire? they sid that they didn't catch the guy yet, just saw where he had been... so why not lite it on fire? that would melt any fingerprints or anything else that could link it to someone.

Maybe for some, but I've yet to have a problem with it. Then again, I've only been running newer games (MOHAA and newer).

[Ninja Edit] Never mind about the newer games, I've succesfully played Grim Fandango on it too.

If he was smart, he would have quickly dumped the data to a floppy and not taken the laptop.

He is smart because he called the professors bluff and didnt return the laptop. Its been over a month and they havent found it and none of those FBI NIH groups are even moving a muscle.

...if he was smart, he would have passed the class without having to steal the laptop.

Thats if he was BRAIN smart. This guy was HEAD smart. Instead of studying, he probably had fun and got drunk and laid while the other kids were studying and If they had taken the test, he would have had the best grade.

Who's the stupid one, here?

The thief for nabbing a laptop he thought contained exam data, or the professor for leaving his laptop with highly sensitive and important data in a situation where it could be stolen by a common college student?

It's almost as if the laptop were a trap...

You're all assuming the person who took it was a student.

Your also assuming that the "data" on their is real. The professor made that up so the student would hand in the laptop.

I'm not assuming anything. I think the prof got his laptop stolen and is in some serious ****, thus the threats to try to get someone to return it. Regardless, this guy is the laughing stick of my school right now.

If he wants to get drunk and laid, he could easily do that... anywhere else.
If he doesn't like studying, he shouldn't be at University.
