I assume by "Dark Forces" he means "Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2." If not, well, I'm gonna talk about JK anyway
While the points made about gameplay > graphics are ultimately true (though I have my doubts many of these people realize that, yes, we look at graphics too, just like women. Er... >.> anyway--), I will say that the original JK isn't all super-spectacular. What kept me coming back to JK was its
modifications[/b] made by the fine people here at Massassi and TACC. SP levels, MP levels, saber and weapon mods, etc... each one managing to summon even greater things from the archaic, yet apparently flexible engine both in technical and conceptual design. I'm sure any Massassian here could list 10 off the top of their head that they love to death.
JO and JA, while prettier and offered perhaps better gameplay design than JK, don't appear to be as easily editable (at least JO). I think it's really the mod-thing that sets the two apart. And yes, I do like JA -- the saber duel stuff and the recent SD siege map are awesome. I wish I had more time and buddies to play them with.
