I can almost think of one.

Really, it was more of a Super Nintendo thing.

Then you can't.

Get it?

Good.

Now STFU. :)

I can think of a movie, though.

The Goonies 2, on NES.

There wasn't a Goonies 1. They just made up a sequel.

Dang.

But it does happen, I assure you.

You really should not make accusations you cannot back up, and in such a profound way.

You aren't exactly trying to DISPROVE my argument either.

Really though, it's the internet. Like I REALLY care.
2005-05-27, 3:01 PM #48
Like we REALLY care when you say we're a bunch of nerds who want to keep a great game alive.

And yet you claim you've been here longer.

If you don't care, why not go away?

I was never about keeping a game alive passed it's prime.

You could easily star wars up another game, but none of you will because you'd rather complain about people who don't like your outdated technology.
2005-05-27, 6:12 PM #51
I haven't complained about anybody not liking the out-dated technology. It's funny, because the SITH engine is still one of the best and least complicated to edit.

Also, you can't deny the fact that you said you've been here longer than some people. If we could easily star wars up another game, why haven't we? Because it's erm... been done? DooM 3 Star Wars mod is still being made, there are mods for JA that make it classic-y, there are star wars mods for almost every game. Why wouldn't we just do the same thing to say, Unreal Tournament?

Oh that's right, this website isn't for Unreal Tournament.

This website and COMMUNITY was founded on JK. Yeah, ok JO and JA have come out and look better. Yes, they (in some eyes) have better saber battles. But, did you enjoy them more that JK? I know I didn't. Some people enjoy the older games. And if you seriously think Massassi is going to give up on JK, then petition against Brian or whoever controls this site and see if you can get it changed to "Your number one site for everything JO/JA". And One last thing, you wouldn't HAVE JO and JA without JK. JK is still a fun game, regardless of whether or not it's outdated. Live with it Rob.
I had a blog. It sucked.
2005-05-27, 6:23 PM #53
Well said.

People still play and edit the original DooM games. For example: www.zdoom.org and www.zdaemon.org (The second being a kickass multiplayer mode with downloadable wads and ctf mode. If you have doom, get both of these).

In fact, There's D1X which is a mod for the original Descent (I can't get it working though :( ). All we need in the source code for JK, and we're set to make the same type of mod.

Dude, I hated JO... don't even freaking go there.

I didn't enjoy them any less, or any more than JK.

They're all pretty meh.

And despite what you may think, JK is less than half of what this community is about now, because the majority of us left it in the hole we dug for it.
2005-05-27, 6:37 PM #55
Rob, I just have one more thing to say. You would not be here, talking on these forums, had JK not been made. I can't change your opinion, and I respect your opinion. I personally love JK, even though it's what, 7 maybe 8 years old now?

Oh and Glyde, nice job with the DooM reference ;)
I had a blog. It sucked.
2005-05-27, 6:45 PM #56
Rob... I know you're probably expecting this but... If JK is meh, then why did you join an editing community that was made for it?

Also, JK isn't dead. The only reason it seems so is beacuse a lot of the good authors vanished. Some are actually returning, if you haven't noticed. Have you played L A B O R A T O R Y yet? I think that's a big improvement from 8 years ago.

I liked JED, which rocks on it's own, without any JK or Mots interference.

Spiral's levels would be way more atmospheric than they attempt to be on a better engine.
2005-05-27, 6:49 PM #58
Hey, it still scared me pretty good. You also didn't really comment on what I said. You avoided the fact that it is still a long way from what once was. Things *are* changing, although slowly, but for the better.

2005-05-27, 6:56 PM #59
No, things aren't really changing.

People have just gotten better at making textures, and are using more and more 3dos, which kind of used to be a taboo..
2005-05-27, 6:57 PM #60
If people are making *changes* to things, then they *change*.

There were also those patches for 3do limit and sector limit. I think those are major changes, if you ask me.

It's more like, yay.. Lets see if I can run this level that requires you to look through 40 adjoins to be aesthetically pleasing.
