that's b/c those people are there to help sell products, not to answer questions. They're salespeople, and salespeople are there entirely to sell things.

No, it's "b/c" I ask for things they've never heard of because the stuff I need is usually well beyond what even wirehead stores like Microcenter sell. Yes, they are salesman, but they are there to answer questions that might lead to a purchase. I don't go in asking for tech support unless it's about a product I'm looking for.

You're all wrong. These people aren't stupid, they're clearly from an alternate dimension where stores close an hour later and were founded ten years earlier and have products in different colours and flavours. They slipped into our dimension without noticing and are now confused because everything is different.

That's the most logical explanation.

Yes, you can, but normal people aren't supposed to know that. And you have to be semi-intelligent about it. You can't tell me that an eleven dollar item sells at another store for a buck.

I went into a Menards looking for crescent wrenches. I couldn't find them. I ask the young stock boy where the crescent wrenches are. He says "right over there" and points to a specific place. When I go to that place, the only thing there is Crescent (tm) brand PLIERS. 5 more minutes of looking and I find the damn crescent wrenches.

Yeh... It's really fun trying to explain to someone why 1.2mbps is really quite good on their 1.5mbps DSL line. Relative capacity people!
