Thanks that clears up a lot for me.

My "teacher's" full story was that after collecting the anti-matter in space and figuring way to use it as engery in a space craft. So in his little idea of that, we should be able to send a craft up and the craft would launch these "match boxes" to collet anti-matter and then use it for fuel.

All i really remember, kinda feel asleep after that.

We observe anti-matter every time there's ß- or ß+ decay.

Antiparticles are created in high-energy collisions, such as at centres of galaxies. No antiparticles residual from the Big Bang have been detected (like all other matter is), which is probably what you were thinking of. This inequality of matter-antimatter is a mystery, and the solution probably lies in CP violation.
