Oh, except I did play WoW. It is a pretty game, the art is great, but Guild Wars has the art to match and a much prettier graphics engine that runs silky smooth.

The majority of the people that HATED Wind Waker's cartoonish cell shaded graphics, rant up and down about how much they like WoW's cartoonish graphics.

Now, where did you get these facts...?

Just a broad observation that spans several geek forums.

Note, if it were a fact, I would have said;

"Fact: blah blah blah"
2005-06-01, 4:15 PM #45
Knowing you, and a lot of other people, no you wouldn't have said "Fact:" Because I have yet to see you use that.

Rob lies with every post he makes :x

No, I don't lie. I'm pretty honest, and candid.

The main reason people DON'T like me is that I'm honest.
2005-06-01, 4:21 PM #47
Nah, it's just that you're pretty much an ******* to a lot of people.

If you're so honest, then why do I never see "Fact:" in front of all your posts?

I have never played WoW, and I probobly never will...

But watching that Leeroy video really amused me. I like how right after he says "LEEEEEEROY JENNNNNKINS" the one guy goes, "Oh my God, he just ran in.."

Because... DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN.

The internet is full of DIFFERENT OPINIONS!!!

OH NOS!
2005-06-01, 5:35 PM #50
That has nothing to do with what I said.

A lot of people still think you're an *******, and you still have contradicted yourself by pretty much saying "Nothing I say is fact, it's all lies / bland rumours!"
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."
2005-06-01, 5:40 PM #51
....

Where did I contradict myself? I've never claimed that everything I've said is fact. Quit putting words in my mouth, please.

Other than the bigfoot thing, which... DUN DUN DUNNNNN actually happened.

I made a broad observation. For the most part that seems pretty true. Lots of people are hyopcrites.

You are, I am, they are, so is that person over it. Get over it.
2005-06-01, 5:41 PM #52
You said that if you were to say something as fact, you would put "Fact:" in front of it.

You have never done that.

Therefore, you never say anything fact. I also never said that you say everything you say is fact. Quit putting words in *my* mouth.
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

On a side note.

I don't care what people OVER THE INTERNET think of me.

Why?

Because in real life... it just REALLY doesn't matter.

Where did I say I would ALWAYS denote facts as "FACT:"

I meant specifically, for this post. As in, if I were to post an actual recorded statistic, instead of browsing users posts, because I was bored.

Seriously. I fail to see where you're attempting to go with this.
2005-06-01, 5:45 PM #55
We can't read your mind, Rob. How are we supposed to know that you would have put "Fact:" only for this thread? The way you worded it seemed like you would always do it. Read it over yourself, if you don't believe me.

I think the topic train just spiraled into the house of logic, again.

You shouldn't have to read my mind.

If I didn't say it, I didn't say it, which means I didn't say it.

Which part of this concept are you failing to grasp?

Also;

"Knowing you, and a lot of other people, no you wouldn't have said "Fact:" Because I have yet to see you use that."

Yes. You are making the assumption that I take the stance that I am full of leh facts and you are teh wrong.

I hate windwaker's cel shaded graphics because it looks like some lame anime kiddy show. I also hated the sailing.

I like WoW because it's got a great artistic rendering and the surroundings are just gorgeously displayed. Something I can't really say so much about WW.

Yeah, but you didn't just rant up and down about the cartoonish artistic flare... which you probably avoided to make a point..
2005-06-01, 5:52 PM #59
Or maybe I just don't like the game's style, which is largely different from WoW's? The only thing they share is that they're cartoony.

Nice jumping to conclusions there buddy.

No, I listed one possible conclusion.

Jumping to a conclusion, in my opinion would have been "Which you did change to prove a point."

You are failing to reread what you said. You said that if it were a fact, you would've said as such with a header of "Fact:". Of course, how was I supposed to know? For all I knew, you could be actually basing this off a serious poll, that wasn't just based on observations that you weren't even trying to get in the first place.

Guild Wars may look pretty, but it does a few things wrong that WoW does fantastically:

- You want to walk up that slightly steep hill? No, you can't. Want to jump off a cliff? Can't. Want to climb up a ledge six inches high? Can't.
- The women have the worst running animation of all time. It looks bad enough on my Elementalist, but my Necromancer looks utterly ridiculous
- Could the women be wearing worse clothing? Is there no set of clothing that covers up my midriff in the entire game? Sure, WoW may have the stinking bondage pants that drop off the Beast (replacing my utterly fantastic looking Kilt of the Atal'ai Prophet), but at least it has real clothes, too...

On the other hand, now that I've hit 60, WoW is a boring piece of crap with nothing to do.
2005-06-02, 3:46 AM #67
Reroll? XD

You can have more than one character.

I've found doing raids and various other high level excursions can be pleasurable pastimes for a level 60 character. Mainly because you end up dieing alot and losing EXP by way of spirit healers, and in no time you'll be down in the negative EXP range, wherewith you can take excuse to return to the joys of the level grind.

Or just make a new character.

I don't know what game you are playing but you DON'T lose EXP when you die. You just lose 10% durability with all items and if you used a spirit healer, and extra 25% durability lost and ressurrection sickness for 10 minutes (if you're level 10+).

As for level 60 being boring, I would suggest doing the following:

1) Help your guildmates (Assuming you are in a guild, which is the only true way to enjoy the game) do dungeon quests so they can get to level 60.

2) Join in town raids such as the one in Hillsbrad and gain contribution points (honor kills don't mean anything by they way - they are just there for bragging rights) so you can get the pvp items.

3) Wait for Battlegrounds to come out and spend time playing that. Alterac Valley is a cool BG that plays just like a game of Star Wars: Battlefront where your faction has to capture graveyards and destroy the enemies's towers to gain victory. Warsong Gulch BG is a CTF game that plays out just like a game of CTF from any FPS (ex. Unreal Tournament) which brings a lot of replay value for a level 60.

4) Go do some dueling outside the major cities such Orgimmar or Ironforge. PvPing in WoW isn't exactly the same as fighting a mob because players don't exactly stand still in one spot and countering spells is like a game of rock/paper/scissors so getting skilled in PvP combat through dueling can be a good time spender.
The cake is a lie... THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!!!

Oh, gotcha. I just assumed they had changed the penalty from durability to EXP, based on what the death FAQ at worldofwarcraft.com says, and, I must admit, losing experience in raids was something I had sadly grown accustomed to when I played EQ.
2005-06-02, 2:31 PM #72
Seriously, to be bored of WOW you'd have had to play ALOT. Like, hundreds of hours. But yeah it is possible... I don't see myself hitting that point anytime soon though.
2005-06-02, 3:09 PM #73
Or you could start a character on Garona, get to 300 mining, and farm arcane crystals for me! :P

I only need 6 more ;)

The terrain steepness issue can sometimes be annoying but the way GW plays as opposed to a real MMO it really isn't a problem in my opinion.

As for the girl animations sucking, I really have no clue. Playing an RPG with a character of the opposite sex always seemed weird to me.

I don't, no... don't even have all blues. But then, spending hours doing the same content over and over again is exceedingly dull.

Plus, I'm a mage. Gear does jack all for me...

I haven't visited a few of the instances (Scholo and Strat), but there's never anyone online when I'm available to play. I'm lucky to do a run a week; last time I did anything at all was going to Dire Maul two weeks ago...

I *always* play girls. I don't know why...
