Stormtrooper Armor
2005-05-30, 9:45 PM #1
He he. My friend and I were discussing the many, many possibilities of fun one has if owning stormtrooper armor. I looked online and saw that there were a lot of kits that you can buy, which are just the plastic armor from a mold. The already made suites are too expensive, so I don't want one of those. Has anyone here bought a stormtrooper armor kit? If so, could you let me know if they are put together easily enough? I am not bad a making things, but I am just worried that they might not look good enough (or something). I just want to make sure that they look authentic.

Oh, the possibilities! I would have so much fun walking around town with my friend in a stormtrooper outfit!

It would be fun to walk into a bank and go up to the teller, then say, "I would like to withdraw twenty credits, please."
Since there isn't much to talk about in this thread, you can also post your ideas of things to do in stormtrooper armor.

I'd love to have a set Stormtrooper armor. I think I'd wear it around once in a while just to get a reaction from people.

Go to a hardware store. Find an O-Ring. Shout, "Look sir! Droids!"

See what happens.

Forget asking for money. I'd rob the place! :p

I want a Rebel pilot suit too. That'd be sweet.

If I bought one of those suits, I could turn out fiberglass duplicates for $3 each... it would be really easy to do.. but very illegal.. so I wont.. ;)

I'd love to see a good-quality, full English set. And when I got a job and had money, that'd be on my shopping list.

Did anyone see the Monaco Grand Prix? Lucas sponsored the Red Bull Racing team and all the mechanics were wearing stormtrooper type helmets. :D

actually that's more episode 3 clone trooper than stormtrooper

anyway... i'd go into a store and buy some star trek stuff (movies, games, whatever i don't have)

get a friend to dress up as a wookie and walk into the police station with him

get a midget or a kid to dress as a jawa or ewok so i can chase them around a public place yelling "give me back my blaster"

go to see any non star wars movie...

Obtain a cop car, and pull some people over.

Ride in a busy elevator all day (maybe with that guy Drkjedi has dressed as a wookiee)

I'm actually in the process of purchasing one of said kits..

Actually, the most expensive and movie accurate kit..

They aren't that hard to put together supposedly, but it does take alot of time, and patience.

Hell, if you're on this site and you don't know what mandalore armor is, you've got problems. It was one of JK's most popular default skins :p

Oh, well that would be different then. Still, JK's armor was just mandalorian, specifically in the Boba Fett style. There's not much difference between different mandalorians' armor.

there is a difference between PT/OT mandalorian armor and kotor mandalorian armor then again after a few thousand years you should expect a noticable change in the appearance of the armor

The movie theatre at the mall near me frequently has lines set aside outside for new movies. When like House of Wax, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Star Trek movies come out, they set aside an area for those who were seeing it opening weekend, so they can sit and "get good spots" or whatever.

I'd dress up as a Stormtrooper and go when a new Star Trek movie opens up, flip them all off and run.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

I was thinking about wearing mine to a Star Trek Convention..
2005-05-31, 1:51 PM #27
On this one documentary called "America Loves Star Trek", at the very end they had a group of Stormtroopers, a Vader and an Imperial Officer say the title. Of course some said Star Wars. :p

Just don't go to a Star Trek forum and say that.

I was discussing with my best friend while we sat in the theatre for 2 hours waiting for RotS to start, and while he is a Trekkie he even admitted that I was right. Star Wars really is superior. How often do you see a Star Trek movie open up at a midnight showing and have 18 screens playing it at one theatre alone? And that theatre had only 18 screens. Not all those people at the theatre were uber Star Wars nerds, some were friends, girlfriends, boyfriends. I doubt each person seeing it could truly tell you anything about Star Wars beyond the movie.

Star Wars is just better.

One thing I really have to do:

1. Buy a high-quality Darth Vader suit, complete with saber and voice changer.

2. Go around town using Jedi Mind Tricks on people to get stuff for free. (Of course it's a prank)
Skateboarding is not a crime.

When Double Helix and I were talking about this, we came up with several interesting ideas...

I want to get a couple stormies (E-11s and all) and go driving around town in my friend's black Ford Explorer with the Imperial March blaring obnoxiously. :D
The man in black fled across the desert, and the Gunslinger followed...

$760.

It's also limited production, which means the one I'm getting may be part of the one and only run of these suits made.

If you had money to put down RIGHT NOW, you might convince the guy to put you down for one.

I was also thinking about going to a friends house with others... All of us dressed in armor of course, and just taking him/her without explanation.

I'd love to have some Stormtrooper armor. I think it will be the next costume I do. For Episode III, I dressed up as Boba Fett. Here's a picture:

Assuming they don't call the police. It's illegal to go into a bank, or really any establishment with a mask on. It's considered to be threat of robbery.
