Stormtrooper Armor

I've obtained my Stormtrooper kit and I'm putting it together.
Its really very neat since i know the end product is going to be sooooo sweet.
I've already started to modify my Kenner E11 into a more realistic looking one with a working folding stock.

I'm gonna hold off until last to do my helmet though, gotta go to radio shack one of these days and get the electronics and stuff.

Where did you get your E-11?

Are the ones like at the toy store good enough to be used?

so far its set me back $800

The E11 is the plastic one from the ToyStore. Back in the old days it was the Imperial Rifle and it was white but now its the Clone Trooper rifle (same exact gun down to the copyright printed on the side, just different names on the boxes and different coloring)

Since its plastic its nice and light but you've gotta make your own stock and clip for the gun but there are some nice guides to help with that (hint: Google "Kenner E11 conversion")

If you wanted to go all out you could modify a real deactivated sterling but why do that when for $20 and some nice metal glossy paint you can have a cheap light gun that nobody is gonna tell the difference on anyway :D

Besides when a fan comes up and wants to hold my E11 I think I'd rather the kid handle a nice light plastic rifle instead of a honkin metal one he might drop and break or something.

And security guards are less likely to strip-search you for carrying a plastic toy. :p

Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

you'll have to wait for those I'm afraid

I'm documenting the whole thing from start to finish but right now I don't have a digital camera so I'm old schooling it with a regular camera lol

As for modding an airsoft gun..I've never seen an E11 airsoft so I assume you'd have to get a Sterling replica airsoft gun or something.
But yeah cops can be a problem. So I wouldn't try to provoke things by shooting BBs at people and going "HALT REBEL SCUM!"

EAT PLASTIC AND LASER SOUNDS FOO!

Although if you don't mind the weight the replica looking ones that people make are pretty damn sweet.
Like the one here

Yeah, the thing that bites about that though is that no one really makes those anymore except expensive customs. There are older ones in existance, but they go for quite a bit when they're available.

It would be cool to make a custom though and use one of those tracer units inside it. Get some of the orange glow in the dark airsoft BBs and voila, instant blaster effect. :D

Wah?

You mean...

It might be worth while tracking down a Sterling SMG airsoft gun?

Can someone.. like... link me to this mish mash? I don't know JACK about airsoft..

No that's not what I mean. While I'm sure it would be cool to track down an airsoft sterling, I mean it might be cool to make a custom Airsoft E-11 from scratch.

What I meant by the whole tracer thing is a tracer unit is an airsoft device that is used with glow in the dark BBs. You put it on the end of a barrel like you would a silencer (it's made to look like one too), when you fire your gun it has a sensor so when the BBs go through it triggers a set of lights. These lights charge the glow in the dark BB so when it exits they glow like tracer rounds on real guns.

Since the tracer body is pretty much just a big cylinder, I had an idea that you could possibly custom build an E11 and use that as the barrel with some modifications.

tutorial on how to make a nice E-11 out of stuff from the hardware store

not exactly 100% movie accurate, but the final product looks pretty nice, IMO
Moo.

my friend has this really old E-11 stormtrooper Kenner gun from the early 90's. it's white instead of black, but then again, my Han Solo gun from the same era is orange. Why? I don't know....
