Well weeks can go by without a single file being submitted.
Also, once the new file system is completed, it will be a lot easier to post files. I dont post files often because with the current system its a total waste of time to just post one single file, especially when that single file is "omgcoolsabersonlyduellevelforjediknightoutastakajk2", so I wait until I have about 4 or 5 or so before posting them all.
Probably only about 1 in every 20 submissions or so is submitted correctly- with each submission I have to remove the screenshots from the zip (because everyone includes the screenshots in the zip, not as separate attachments) resize them (because they are all at like 1600x1200 resolution), rename them (because they are all named shot0001.jpg and shot0002.jpg), rename the zip file (because it inevitably will include spaces in the file name), search the readme for clues as to whether the map is for Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy (because apparently most mappers for these games assume that I can tell telepathicially which one its for), wait for the file to finish uploading (because while massassi has great download speeds, its upload speeds are quite slow and unfortunately most files these days are several megs or larger), go through and test the screenshots and download to make sure I didnt make a mistake somewhere (and if I did, someone will inevitably im me to point it out before I figure this out myself, thus further distracting me). Oh yeah, and then if a file I posted is considered to be of sub-par quality, I have to deal with people asking me why I even bothered to post it, people who dont understand that one of the whole points of the massassi file system is that we post everything we recieve so that everyone has a chance to recieve feedback and improve their mapping skill.
Now you can see why every single file poster has eventually slacked off and forgotten about their job. I dont think the number of file posters is the problem, its the system, and hopefully with the new system things will be a lot better.
