I don't really see how Nova looks like a whore. Are we seeing different screenshots? And Blizzard has always been ALL about the bimbos anyways. Night Elves anyone?

And I don't really care if you *think* his complaining is more admirable. That's coming from someone who apparently thinks characters wearing tight armor and clothing is on the "same level" as porn models.

Wow. Respect--;

I apologize if I'm going overboard here. But seriously, how many Blizzard reps do you see on this board?

I dunno. How many Blizzard customers do you see on this board? You know, the people who pay the reps.

Yoshi, customers buy products. They don't relay info. to developers if there is anything wrong with the product. They can give info to reps, but that isn't going to happen if all the complaining is here.

Consumers pay the bills, and they have a say in if a product blows or if it rules. Mostly by how many of them buy said product.

As far as I know he hasn't made any attempts at directly complaining to them, but he has the right to do so (even though they would most likely ignore it.)

Actually I didn't say anything about tight armour and clothing. It's the fact that the character is a sex object that puts it on the same level as porn models (and sexualised pop stars, and bikinied dancers in rap videos, and sexualised advertisement models, etc.) You yourself said it's a cheap marketing tactic, so I don't see why you'd disagree.

I love Blizzard. I played the WoW beta for half a year or so. I own all the Warcraft games. Starcraft is great too.....Nova is still a whore.
Think while it's still legal.

The product is not even out. If they don't like it for that reason, they don't have to buy it.

But what consumers buy is irrelevent. Complaining here instead of to a rep. does nothing.

I doubt the legitimacy of the complaint. It's like saying "I don't like orcs. They look demonic. Take them out of WC." or "Swords are old. Use a different weapon."

And you're twisting what I originally said but I probably took SAJN's post out of context too. Bah. :<

Point plainly spoken: Labelling this as a porn model is extreme.

So, a woman that is naturally "big" and "curvy" is a whore too?

Okay, go take high school economics again. Only this time, pay attention.

Sorry, yoshi, but it still holds no place in this discussion. Stop trying to change the topic.

Let's make this simple: Prove how SAJN's complaint here will benefit his cause more.

SAJN said: "You need to start complaining somewhere. Why not here?"

Show me how this will benefit him more than taking it to a rep.

Does it matter? He can say whatever he wants--that's my point. You seem to think what a consumer thinks has no bearing on how a company does business though--which is totally erronneus.

Either way it's not really your place to tell him to shut up, because you know...he doesn't really have to. At least not if you say it. Though I guess I'm sort of committing the same crime by saying this.

Complaining here might cause other people here to think about the subject and and realise he's right, and they'll complain too... And the more vocal people are about it, the more likely game developing companies will listen.

I didn't label it as a porn model, I just compared it to a porn model. It's only extreme if you think porn is extreme. I labelled the character as a sex object.

It's not a cheap marketing tactic. It's actually a pretty good one, because I can imagine that a lot of guys wouldn't want to buy the game as much if the main character looked like a Hutt in humanoid body armor.

[EDIT] Now that I think about it, that would actually be pretty funny! :p[/EDIT]

[EDIT #2] Did I just prove myself wrong? [/EDIT #2]

But really, they should make her more practical instead of attractive. Like, instead of a huge hairstyle, shave her head so she's not as big of a target :D
