For Killzone, they announced it it was runing at 5 fps on an alpha model of the chip that will be for PS3 and they sped it up to 60 fps during post production.

They confirmed that no trailer was 'real gameplay' since the RSX chip is not even finished yet and developers don't have the final model to develop on.

But some of the trailers were pre-rendered while USING textures and models intended for the final game.

Yeah yeah, because you know you can post bull**** and not links.

This is exactly why propaganda floats around. "OMG GUYS I HEARD THAT THA ALPHA MODEL OF THE PS3 CHIP LIKE SUXED ON KILLZONE LOLS"

In other words: Post a link, please?

Anyways, I don't see how the Revolution will have 'revolutionary gameplay'. Maybe revolutionary in the fact that it will have a backlog of all the old SNES, NES, and N64 games for purchasing (though how expensively? I'm not about to pay out the *** for some games that I can get for my computer (albeit a bit non-legally) for free). Other than that, we know NOTHING about the Revolution...which is sad. Nor do we know anything about the Gameboy Advance's successor (if there even is one) as the DS was not to be the 'next Gameboy'.

The PS3 and the XBox 360 both look like they'll be powerhouses--it's just which one will come out on top. There's been all kinds of rumors and propaganda going around that the PS3 or the 360 is better. 2 things:

1) STFU unless you know what you're talking about, which you don't, because no Cell processors have been used for gaming, no real Xbox 360 exists yet, and neither graphics solution has been touched by anyone but M$ and Sony respectively.

2) Stop hating and spreading rumors. Just wait until we have something tangible to sink our teeth into. Either way, it's not just about the graphics--the PS2 proved that. It's about the titles you have to back up your system.

Revolution will be revolutionary in a way that has something to do with a controler which will also effect gameplay I'm guessing. They haven't announce what just yet as they are still trying to finalize the design for the controler. Also it will be free to download games onto the Revolution. It's just a bonus feature.

Yes we do.

I think for now it's just the Gameboy Micro.

No. The Gameboy Micro isn't a "successor" to the Gameboy Advance in the same way the SP isn't a successor to the Gameboy Advance. It's just a rerelease.

1) Okay, and where's your source? You assume it will be a revolutionary controller. Hell their last 'revolution' they unveiled to us has really been quite the flop. I'm not talking sales-wise, but seriously...I've used one extensively, and while it's a fun toy, it's just that--a fun toy. Five minutes after picking one up, I put it down. Even some of the better titles (though granted I haven't tried them all).

2) That FAQ really doesn't tell us anything about it. I'm talking technically, what it can do, what it can't. Stop being a fanboy for one second.

3) That's not the successor. That's an extra peripheral. They said something about unveiling the gameboy's true successor at E3 but they lied, just like they did about giving extra details on the Revolution (technically-speaking).

Are you talking about the DS? Because, you know, if Dj Yoshi only finds it an amusing toy for a short ammount of time then it must be. The millions of people that own DS's agree that the touch screen un-wraps a whole knew way of gameplay. Which it's starting to do the more and more games that come out for it. At first there was Mario 64 DS, which wasn't amazing at all. Then WarioWare DS came out, and the entire game uses the DS to the MAX. It's amazing some of the stuff that the touch screen and microphone can be used for. Kirby (although I haven't played it) is supposed to use the touch screen very much as well. The bottom line is, there hasn't been a console like the DS until the DS! Which makes it pretty damn amazing.

I wasn't going to start and argument. But if you want to be a jerk fine. You said we didn't know anything else about the Revolution, so I posted a link to an EIGHT PAGE F.A.Q. about the Revolution. That's being SUCH a HUUUGE fanboy. Think. Before. Posting.

Nintendo never really said anything about unveiling a gameboys successor at E3, nor did they say just how much they'd talk about the Revolution. It's all rumors that go from one person to another. So on and so forth.

Didn't realize it was eight pages. After reading a few more pages, I realize that said Controller being 'revolutionary' seems vague at best. Not only that, but you're banking on something being revolutionary that could...not be?

I know plenty of DS owners that seriously wish they hadn't have gotten one, and even more that sold their DS to the local reseller store. There are a lot of owners that are hoping new titles that are coming up this fall will make the DS worthwhile...but honestly, you've got two good titles on the system so far. One being a rehash of a 10 year old game, and another being a semi-decent port to a portable console. Not to mention, most of the games lack in portability in that you can never just put it down and pick it back up.

I don't count Wario Ware as a good game as it's the same game for the GBA and GC...only with some touchscreen games and a few microphone games. Not only that, but it's got a grand total of what, 2 hours worth of gameplay. Can't say that excites me much.

Now by flop I didn't mean it's a bad system and has no potential. I meant that the thing's been out for what, 9 months now and has no substance to speak of game-wise. I mean honestly, it's best selling point is that it is 150 instead of more expensive and at certain retailers comes with a game (said rehash)

And it still told us next to nothing about it. It was just fluff. I said technically, yet you still refer to the FAQ that tells us only some really vague design aspects.

I could've sworn I saw an article somewhere (probably engadget, joystiq or some such place) that said they did, but I must admit that I cannot track it down right now, so I'm probably wrong on that. If I do find it though I'll edit this post and post it.

I amended my post. Read it again, and post. It's not opinions, it's fact--only [edit: totally missed 4 games] 7 games that have come out for the DS scored above an 8.0 on IGN and other reviewing networks. While I agree, reviews can be misleading occasionally, they do provide a pretty good standard to judge a game by. Not only that, there's just too small of a library for the DS (and GBA games don't count really, because if you bought a DS chances are really quite good you still have a GBA of some sort. It's just a convenience not to have to carry it around too)

i don't know why but i see maybe one or two more pages of this thread before it gets the lock...

these console threads ALWAYS go the same direction

i think i'll wait until i actually get to hold a controller and see the games in action before i start to form any opinion about which console it better...

at this time all i can comment on is the appearance... and all 3 of them are ugly and unstackable

Actually, the Revolution looks quite nice. It's very small and sleek.

I know it's the newest GBA rehash, but I'm looking for the next Gameboy as, like I said before, Nintendo even stated they did not plan on the DS becoming their next portable gaming system to focus on and even called it an experimental thing.

yeah but these systems make it REALLY DIFFICULT to try to get a setup that works because very few game systems are stackable... they need to realize that not everyone only has one console

i mean i'm not expecting them to design the systems specifically for people like me who want to eventually work out a setup with every single console hooked up to the same TV at the same time but at least realize some people might have more than one system hooked up to a TV

Nintendo has said that the DS is not the official successor to the Gameboy Advance, but it obviously is. I doubt they will unveil another Gameboy so soon, in regard of upsetting recent DS buyers.

Both the DS and PSP look really underwhelming. For the exception of the new Castlevania and Mario & Luigi 2 RPG, nothing excites me at all for both portable systems. My brother recently bought a DS, and it just feels... gimicky.

And why does the PlayStation 3 logo look exactly like the Spider-Man movie logo?

So you're telling me that a (maybe) dual core G5 with a 6800GT in it is anywhere near as powerful as a Cell with a graphics solution that (should be) more than 2x as powerful as a 6800 Ultra?

On paper, the real PS3 smokes that setup. Seriously, that's like comparing a tricked out Alienware to some budget Dell PC.

Either way though, we'll see.

Wow. I'm so sorry you've gotten so wraped up in the debate here that you've forgotten the meaning of SARCASM, and what the freaking emotes on the forum mean.

Now. When did I claim I was smarter in that sentance? I sureshell can't see it.

When did I claim I was God? I don't see that either.

Silly or stupid in place of retarded? Maybe you have a point there, but jesus people, you take this far too seriously, so my point still stands.

I only take tributes in cash. I believe you may still have my address. ;)

Would it make the debate less retarted? Oh, I'm sorry... I meant stupid. Would it make it less stupid? No. Not really.
