Foods that help your arteries?

Mom's plagued with acne to this day, unfortunately I carried that trait. :( It's not so much a problem as with mom.

You want to avoid foods that are loaded with...unsaturated fat. Or is it saturated. It's the fat that's solid @ room temperature. That and foods with high concentrations of Low-Density Lipoprotein cholesterol. That stuff causes atherosclerosis (clotting in arteries).
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Yeah, saturated fat is bad fat. I think there's a formula, something like if the saturated fat content of a food is more than 30% of the total fat then it should be avoided.

Also, an addendum to the Low-Density Lipoprotein factoid... High-Density Lipoprotein cholesterol can actually help to clean up the mess that LDL leaves in your system, so try to find stuff with high concentrations of HDL and low concentrations of LDL.

Oh yeah, and avoid faddish diets. And I think I heard something about eating 6 smaller meals/day helps keep your metabolism up all day.

There's quite a few ways too cook tomatoes. Grilling, boiling, in the oven. Also don't forget that they won't lose too much as long as you don't boil them because of their skin.

Rubbish! Such an urban legend. Diet has no effect on acne, nor does sweat, another popular myth. Nor masturbating or any other silly wives tales thought up to make kids stop doing certain things.

Acne is caused by bacteria (except blackheads which are non-inflammitory and not technically acne I believe), genetics has a large influence as well. Personal hygene actually has less of an effect than most people think - washing your face six times a day probably won't help more than washing it just once. The increased irritation can even make it worse.

Until you see a dietitionist and tell me what *she* said, I will believe you.

But I'm also not believing that it does either. Because I don't know.

But don't you think that certain bacterias found on chocolates can transfer to your mouth when consumed?

And also yes, tomatoes are very good for you..too bad the italians didn't figure this out until 1500's (I think). They thought the tomatoe was actually a poisonies plant.

Now, they cook it everyday. And usually the tomatoe sauces they cook takes all day for the best flavor.

(My dad's a chef....you gotta know these things if you live with him :( )

They don't gain nutrients, cooking them just makes it so our digestive system can absorb them. We barely digest most plant matter we consume, their cell walls are too much for our simple tract. Cooking destroys the cell walls, leaving the nutrients floating freely in the mass.

Huh? Since when does chocolate have a special acne-bacteria? What about other foods?

Roach is right. Unlike vegetables that loose Vitamon C after steaming/cooking, tomatoes have a reaction that makes it "activate" if you will.

Like I said, I may be wrong.

But I believe it's only chocolate and red meat.
