Fox News owns an idiot...
2005-07-11, 5:20 PM #1
I checked around, haven't seen this posted, so here goes:

http://filecabi.net/v.php?file=MichaelCrook.wmv&width=340&height=320

Basically, the guy hates the soldiers specifically, and calls them idiots for joining the military. Note that he does not hate the government, but the soldiers themselves.

Hilarity insues as the folks at Fox News begin to destroy him on national TV for it.

Hahaahahahahha.

One thing I loved was when the Fox guy said "I'm not trying to personally insult you." That was gold. I mean, FFS he started the interview with the question "Do you realize that soldiers protect the rights for morons like you to say the stupid things you say?"

The guy does seem like an idiot though. He really couldn't back up anything he said, or even really explain his point. Although he did get interrupted every other word.
2005-07-11, 5:34 PM #8
I love the "You've wasted our time" at the end. GOLD.
2005-07-11, 5:37 PM #9
While he got what he deserved, I think the interviewer should have been a bit more professional than that.
2005-07-11, 5:38 PM #10
Hahahahahahahah! What a moron.

They might have been more professional if the guy had deserved it.

Actually, it was the other guy that said he wasn't trying to personally insult him. One was insulting him the entire time.

While I normally dislike and disagree with most of Fox News' opinions, this was spot on. That guy deserved every word that was said to him. He deserved to be humiliated on national television.

Oh I guess so. I minimized the video after a while and just listened to the audio.

It also really doesn't help that he's so weird looking and his last name is "Crook"...lol.

That guy is a complete fool, but I also don't totally agree with the FOX interviewer. He kept saying that the soldiers were giving Michael the freedom of speech. Actually, I'd say that it's more like the soldiers are protecting the freedom of speech. Do I think that the soldiers may be getting more credit and attention than they deserve? Not at all. The amount of attention that they are getting shows how patriotic our country is. And to willingly have people like Michael Crooke on television seems to make FOX slightly un-patriotic. I'm not saying that the network agrees with him (because clearly they only had him on so they could butcher him without giving him a chance to talk), but by having him on the air and showing people how negative his views are, they are more than likely turning many Americans against each other. And as the interviewer stated, Michael Crooke does have freedom of speech, no matter how inappropriate it is. I don't agree with his views, as I'm sure many of you don't either. Just keep in mind that there are many, MANY more people just like Michael Crooke. They have freedom of speech, and they aren't afraid to use it. It's a kind of paradox how our country's government can grant us the freedom of speech which can allow us to show our patriotism, but can at the same time allow us to hate one another a little bit more for expressing our thoughts.

Sorry I rambled a bit, please continue to bash away.

I agree. I think that was the worst piece of journalism I seen recently. But I can't help but be amused to see this guy get insulted on national television.

I guess this is how Fox gets ratings.

Hannity and Colmes isn't a news piece in the sense like ABC Nightly news or something. Their show is not supposed to be presenting news in the tradiational format, but in an analysis way with opinions.

But to see Hannity and Colmes both go so hard against the same guest - that's saying something. Since Hannity is conservative and Colmes is liberal.

So realize their show isn't supposed to be the most journalistic piece of news on television.

Yeah I also thought the first guy was a bit of an idiot himself. The second guy was much more logical and he actually made the guy look dumb in an intelligent manner, rather then straight up personal attacks.

I think the argument that the soldiers are the reason he has that right to free speech is kind of wrong. Maybe the soldiers who fought in the world wars and the American revolution did this, but the ones fighting in Iraq? It hardly seems like they are protecting any freedoms of the American people, but rather they are tools to accomplish the governments agenda.
2005-07-11, 7:05 PM #30
That is true, Raoul, but it seemed like this Crook guy was attacking all soldiers with no specific time frame. This is an assumption obviously, as there is no way I'm going to his website for fear of my head imploding.

Wow. I just took a peep at the website and his idiocy really goes far beyond hating soldiers. This guy seems to be a classic troll. He just says anything offensive to get attention at a rise out of people. He really is a complete loser in the truest sense of the word though...
