One of the kids on the lacrosse team I coached was named Tom Anderson. No one called him Neo, though. Maybe I'll do that next year.

Yea, a guy in a suit. The similarity ends there.

Has anyone ever invited them in? What do they do afterwards?
nope.

My mom has because she's way too nice, and because one of them was one of my sisters' friend's sister.

They usually do it because they have to as part of some religious requirement concerning evangelization, and aren't too hardcore about it. But we're Catholic, so maybe they were just toning it down.

Although I don't really know or believe much of the religion, how did Jehovah's Witness calculate that only 144,000 people will get into heaven?.....out of millions and millions of people who participate in that religion? I can't find much sense in that.

Hmm. This thread turned direction fast.

Umm... A typical Massassi nerd wearing a suit, tie & shades ensemble, with a lens flare on his left shoulder that makes the background look hopelessly CG, even though it's real?

For instance the celebration of Christmas, I saw proof from many sources of where it started, and how it was not Holy, and god commands us not to put any day above another, for every day is sufficient for its own evil... it you people who are brainwashed, still I'am a rogue... :D

Er...what? What proof and sources? And how am I brainwashed? Because I don't share the same beliefs?

Umm, no they don't. The DATE of christmas was changed to December to become closer to the date of Yule to get pagans to join the religion. But the holiday itself has always had the same purpose and meaning.
Think while it's still legal.
2005-07-15, 8:06 PM #39
My problem with Jehovah's Witnesses stems from them using the bible as a word for word rule book. A friend of mine once tried to convert me, and I read the literature with an open mind. I must admit that a lot of the arguments were very compelling.....so long as you took the bible at face value.

The bible was written by men. Whether you believe they were touched by God or not, they were still men, carrying their own biases that likely came out in much of their writings. I say 'likely' because I cannot prove it either way. No one can.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with much of what the bible says. I find the parables of Jesus to be excellent reminders of the virtuosity of man, but this is only because they ring true with what is in MY soul. I will never let an ancient book dictate how I live. I do not think any god would put a blueprint on how to live on paper. I think it takes a hard look at one's self, and a lot of soul searching to find the ideal way to live well, and co-exist with each other.

Those are my thoughts. I better get going before my Presbyterian family senses my blasphemy, and comes to club me. (j/k, they are a very understanding bunch)
