I remember hearing about this a while back and its finally gotten to trial.

Personally I find it hilarious when her lawyer said ""To place an attractive young woman in that kind of hell hole is like putting a piece of raw meat in with the lions," said Fitzgibbons. "I'm not sure she would survive"

I mean seriously, we have laws now that keep the hot *** women out of jail? God.

Ahaha. I know it's been said before but I really don't think this type of thing is all that wrong. It IS different when its a female teacher and a male student. I mean, I know I would love to be in that kid's position and I'm sure many guys would too. This is one case where I believe there SHOULD be a double-standard.

I agree. It's not as if she held the boy at gunpoint and said "have sex with me now." I'm sure she tried to seduce him, and he happily went along with it, as he is a teenage boy and saw a hot young woman trying to seduce him.

In general, if both parties agree, then I see nothing wrong with it, and especially in this case, since it is technically impossible for her to have raped him. They both consented, so as odd as it may be, I would not consider it a crime in my book.

I'm not defending what she did, but it would make sense for her emotional instability to last for at least the duration of the time she was screwing the kid.

I'd accept that she was emotionally unstable. I'm appalled by people who think it's okay, and I don't even need to touch the ethics of it. Even if it was ethically okay, it's still a MONUMENTAL LACK OF JUDGEMENT. I mean seriously, he's a fourteen year old boy for Chrissakes. Ew. Who'd want to have sex with one of those?

I don't think the sex itself was the crime, I think it was more the damage done to the child emotionally from her that she is really being punished for.

Her mental state should be called into question though considering the age of the child there unstable about that kind of perversion, perhaps with some analasis they can find a way to reabilitate her, which I believe is the objective of attempting to send her to prison is it not? Although I agree some people should be locked up not to be reabilitated but simply for the saftey of the public.
