Can we have it back? I know its forums were ugly and no one used it, and we were getting invaded by spam bots and Ryan never showed up, but I still miss it...

TACC's forums contained the vulnerability that was letting these hackers get access to our server, so I had to shut it down. I'm going to turn on the main site in the morning and Ryan's going to upgrade the forums and then I'll turn those back on, too.

Would that also turn the Hub back on? We Hub admins are somewhat in the dark here - did our forums also contain the vulnerability? As far as I know we could be using the same version of phpBB.

Only reason I show my face here is because TACC is down. I thought perhaps that I was just out of the loop vis a vis a forum shutdown or something. I admit, I cried.

I saw "War of the Worlds" the other day. It wasn't bad. My friend was kind of disappointed though, I had to explain to him that is how it's meant to end...

This laptop is annoying the heck out of me, I keep bumping the %^&$ touch-pad-thingo.

So, i'll give you some obsolete tanks and landmines to hold off the Luftwaffe. If you want to return or trade it you'll have to requisition for and fill out the required forms... ALL of them for each individual item.

You go away for a while, come back and find it's all gone, with nothing but the faint smell of everything having burnt to the ground. Hope to see it return, otherwise this TACC tattoo I got on my arm is just going to be completely non-sensical.

I should be sad that tacc is gone since it has been kinda my second home for quite a lot of years. Except the fact that nothing worthwile had been posted on the fora for like 2 years puts me in a don't care postition. Perhaps tacc's demise was long overdue anyhow...

Oh well at least we still have the emptyness that is the #tacc ircchat...
