Resident Evil 5 Trailer

(money•bie, those are the ingame graphics :p)
Think while it's still legal.

No, it's a pre-rendered cutscene. What makes you think that's in-game?
2005-07-25, 10:53 AM #5
You wanna know how many people said that about PS2 in-game shots before the PS2 came out?

I believe it. After they said Killzone was indeed possible, something like that doesn't seem anywhere in the zone of impossibility. But we'll see.

Damnit, PS3, why next year.

Of course they're ingame, huh, do you think those cutscenes would appear from a MAGICAL SANDWICH THAT IS GIVEN TO YOU WITH THE GAME, HUH!?!?

I won't believe it until the PS3 comes out. I'm impressed with the environment though, looks cool.
2005-07-25, 11:48 AM #8
I don't like it at all. it's too soft and blurry in the second shot.
2005-07-25, 1:02 PM #9
Yeah sorry I'm a sceptic that is so not in game, I'd have to see that to believe it.

YEEESSSS!! Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever made, and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. This game is going to be incredible.

Oh and, those ARE in game graphics. There is an in-game Killzone teaser trailer on gamespot that has the exact same graphics as both this game, as well as the Killzone supposed "pre-rendered" screens.

Well there's a lot of controversy, but at the end of the day that Killzone trailer ran only about 5fps on the dev machine. BUT, the dev machine is about 75% as powerful as the PS3 (according to Sony). So we'll see.

But if Resident Evil was the only game to ever scare you...good god man, you need to play more Silent Hill (1 mainly).

Played Silent Hill 1. I hated it and wasn't scared at all.

Nothing has ever really scared me. Movies, games, etc. But when I was alone, no lights on, and had a surround sound stereo, I popped in Resident Evil 2 and almost **** my pants.
2005-07-25, 1:31 PM #14
RE up until I'd say three really wasn't scary. It was all action and some zombies and a few other monsters. RE3 was a lot worse with Nemesis, still the scariest out of them all I'd say. I could never be scared by the other ones.

Play System Shock 2 Temp, THATS scary. Theres something about a computer telling you to die, that isn't... Normal. :)

Resident Evil scared me, but Fatal Frame 1 and 2 freaked me out several times.

What the hell? I didn't post that double-post..I wasn't even on the computer..

Anyways.. RE3 was my favorite.

And I've played System Shock 2, I loved that game. Another game I wish to god there was a sequel off as good.

Those are in game graphics beacause the PS3 will be the first console to have on-the-fly cinimatic graphics. We will be playing movies! Damn I love Nvidia!

I've always liked Resident Evil because they're simply damn fun games, but the Silent Hill series is incredible just for atmosphere alone. Silent Hill 4 is an incredible game (although a lot of backtracking) and the visuals freak you out on a psychological level. I demand everyone who reads this to pick up RE4 and SH4... now.

I only really liked RE 4, the others just bored me too much and the controls sucked. That's my main issue with the SH games. Any game with worse controls than RE should BURN!

That's just it, you probably haven't played an RE game before: What you call "Pre-Rendered Cutscenes" it calls "Completelly uninteractive gameplay."

I think with what the PS3 can do that isnt pre-rendered ala RE4

they already stated that re5 is in the same style as re4, thus no prerendering.

Future posting. Also: Play System Shock, and hope Bioshock comes soon.

And no more prerendering, so people get off that. Thanks.

I read that RE5 is inspired by Black Hawk Down.
2005-07-25, 5:53 PM #27
Cloud: That's what I heard too. Being chased through a city by some kind of zombie-like creature.

Actually, by what I've seen in the trailer, they look a lot like RE4 so there's no way that is prerendered. What's killing me right now is who is that? Is it Billy, Carlos, or Chris?
No sig.
2005-07-25, 6:45 PM #28
It LOOKS like Chris, but it could be Carlos. I don't think that's Billy.

I swear Capcom better eventually announce this for the Revolution or I will be one cranky monkey.
Rock is dead - but I believe in necrophilia.

It's Chris.

Also, this is supposed to be a much brighter atmosphere than the previous games... which is rather un-RE..

I agree, I hate that "Let's make everything so real to the point where everything looks soft and glowy"

Real life ain't all that soft and smooth ya know.

It is, we just don't notice as much. Because in these games it's like first person effects in a third person view. Your eyes adjust to the sun, you have that 'blurry glow', you just don't notice it as much.

You said System Shock 2. Which is the successor to System Shock.

Anyways: It's actually quite realistic--not that bad. In the middle east EVERYTHING would glow with the heat, really.

Actually that pic is one of the most realistic looking screenshots I've ever seen. The slight softness gives it a much more realistic look, and I'd say the actual trend is that video game designers tend to gravitate towards an overly crisp and sharp look to graphics that makes it seem very fake. This is the first game I've seen to do the opposite.
2005-07-25, 10:21 PM #38
Billy lives at the end of RE0?

I haven't beaten it yet.. cause it's freaking hard.
2005-07-26, 2:10 AM #39
This game is coming out on Xbox360 as well. Just thought I'd mention that.

If that's Chris, as in the original Chris, then... *cough*. Yeah. It just doesn't seem like he has the proper build to be Chris when compared to the first RE incarnation. But, that's just my opinion.
2005-07-26, 8:41 AM #40
Considering he's not made up of under 1000 polygons anymore, I'd say his look was bound to change.
