I dunno JK with some of the editing that is going on with JK I've considered reinstalling it, some of the new modifications and the work under progress on JED may send us into another golden age of editing... what a time to be alive.

Not to mention, the Source engine will get tons of mods, but it's still just pretty lighting, outsourced physics, and nice looking faces. The rest of it is still Quake code and crappily edited code at that. The only game that I know of that used the Source engine ended up a huge flop because of the bugs AND how poorly it ran. That being Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines. Battlefield 2 is and always will be laggy--because it's made by EA. I doubt it'll do better than a few mods. World of Warcraft...well that's an MMO. It has nothing to do with editing or anything that this thread may be about in general.

The 'new hotness' is the Doom 3 engine, soon to be the Quake 3 engine (since it's going GPL soon) the Unreal 3 engine, Serious Sam 2, and (hopefully) DNF when it comes out next year.

I agree. There's just something about JK that makes it timeless. Sure, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy had insanely better graphics and such, but something about JK is just classic, and I really can't imagine the day that people will finally stop playing and editing it, especially with that new Sith2 engine being worked on.

I know, but EA forced DICE to release it, BF:Nam, and BF:1942 before they were done, leaving bugs in it.

Temp--PC Gamer has already played some of it. They're actually almost done with it or are already done with it. This article was back in March or April in the PC Gamer mag. It's actually going to be finished.

JK is insanely fun, no matter how McCrap the graphics are. It is easier to edit than most games I've played (I think...).

im still going to play JK from time to time for years to come which is more than can be said for bf 1942 or the rest of them, Jk is still a way more memorable game than any

I think I'll always enjoy Jedi Knight, because it's what really got me into multiplayer. Plus, some of my favorite custom maps are for JK. Stargate, Drazen, The Capital, Cardia, the Dralloc series, Empire Night Club ( :o ), JHS...The list goes on and on.

lol JHS had no archatecture what so ever, it was just a whole bunch of square hallways put together and some lame traps. :)

yet it still rocks.

JK is probably one of the most modified games (with custom levels, mods, skins) out there which is what makes it so great. (and of course the gameplay)

But without it being so heavily modified constantly, its populairity wouldnt have lasted this long, so with the modifications people make it "their own" game instead of one game with set conditions, blabla.
