How did you find out about massassi?

The Zone, back in 2001 or 2002. When I finally bought the game. And when I downloaded JKRPG and stuff.

Surprisingly good times.

Back when JK was still young I bought a CD called "Jedi Alliance" which had mods and tools on it. Most levels were pretty crappy but some were very good but all had this reference to www.massassi.net in their readme. So I went there and found out that there were newer versions of JED and the Patch Commander. I registered to the forums to ask a few questions but I was never very good in editing and let it lie for some time until I rediscovered Jedi Knight.

Jedi High School.

I think that map was the most played map period of all JK. I have no idea why. I liked Shadow's Keep much better...

Ah, and Baron's Hed RPG. That was fun...

Man, back when I was in high school with not a care in the world. So busy... I miss those days... so very bogged down...

However, college gals > HS.

Friend refered me here for levels. I lurked for a while, then signed up on the forums.

I went to High School with BrianTheSith (who used to be a file poster here) and one day he passed me a note in Seminary:
BTS: "Do you like Star Wars?"
Me: "Yeah."
BTS: "Do you have a game called Jedi Knight?"
Me: "Yeah."
BTS: "We should have a multiplayer game sometime."

We never could get the multiplayer game running, but I did go over to his house and he introduced me to the Big Fluffy Pack 2. I wondered what the heck he was talking about. He also showed me what he did as a file poster at Massassi, and we played Jawa Dwelling for a while.

That got me into editing, and I'm still here!

I used to be a TACCer,. but I came here when the Command Chamber died. The site is still up, but it hasn't been updated in more than a year and their boards are practically dead compared to here. It happened back when the admin over there installed new forums and the site was down for long periods of time, I guess people just lost interest over so much downtime.

well. I remember about a year or so back. I was searching for some JO mods and stuff. I stumbled apon massassi. At first I thought it was stupid, I was all about how things looked back then. I was like screw this. And then about a week later, something drew me back here, I signed up and here I am today.

Buck and I were looking for Dark Forces Mods. I forget who exactly found the site, but ones of us stumbled upon it. Buck got much more involved than I did, as is evidenced by his rank. I didn't join the forums probably for a year after we found the site. Man that seems like so very long ago....

From my friend on MPlayer, SM_Terminator or something around that line. He was a JKedit user and played a ton of levels from here, I learned about massassi from him and another friend on MPlayer named "Yoshi-Andy"

It started when I was wandering around on Mars, in Active Worlds, and some guy was asking if anyone could help him make an elevator. I helped him, and we continued to build things for a while. Eventually we were playing Jedi Knight, and he told me about Massassi. For a while we didn't talk much (perhaps because I wasn't using ICQ? I can't remember) but I did notice he changed his name to 'Correction'.
After a while, I decided to lurk on the forums, and I was mildly surprised to see Correction there.

What if everything that exists is fragmentary, incomplete, aborted, events with ends but no beginnings with us constantly making categories, seeking out, and reconstructing, until we think we can see total love, betrayal and defeat, although in reality we are all no more than haphazard fractions. The mind, for its own self-preservation, finds and integrates scattered fragments. Using religion and philosophy as the cement, we perpetualy collect and assemble all the garbage comprised by statistics in order to make sense out of things, to make everything respond in one unified voice like a bell chiming to our glory. But it's only soup. The mathematical order of the universe is our answer to the pyramids of chaos. - Stanislaw Lem

A friend of mine told me about it. He showed me SBX2 in Caesar's Palace and I became very interested in JK mods and levels. I hadn't even thought about new weapons or anything until then.

I registered on the forums just under a year ago (approx) to get help with weapon modelling; and I remember Freelancer helping me fix it. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Those are my beginnings.

Same here. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] I'd download levels from Massassi back when it was at jedinights.com and from jediknights.net. After playing them I wanted to learn to make them. Massassi helped me with that too. After learning JkEdit and JED I started reviewing levels back in 2000. I'm the only person to have ever reviewed a JK CTF level [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Well it started using Yahoo to search for Jedi Knight mods... but I didn't end up at Massassi, I ended up at the Jedi Knight Centre. I ended up as a news/file poster there for a while, joined the clan the site was hosting, got into the community, and I kept getting these emails from people about Massassi.net, so eventually I checked it out and I've been in and out of the community since then. I've been everything from a completely random poster (like right now), to a file poster, I also was an Op in the chat room for a brief time. Those were the days!

Jedi knight file archive shut down, this site was in the links and was still working, was in english, looked like it was not on the verge of death, and had lots of files. I didn't use forums here until much later.
