If my memory serves me correct.. the Challenger had a problem with one of the rocket boosters during lift off.

The media can publish whatever they want, it doesn't really matter. What matters is who chooses to pay attention to it. It's the viewers who sensationalise things.

That's quite valid, but my point was that people had been more cautious about the space program. (i.e. grounding it for a certain period of time until further investigations were made and the public started worrying about other things)
