So yeah, my first EVAR pair of Chuck Taylors. Size 13.

They're so damn comfortable I could sleep in them, damn it.

Personally I think they look like clown shoes, but if they're comfy, why the hell not?

That's a lie. Everyone knows Brand name is the way to go.

Anyways, nice chucks. I would own a pair, but I wore chucks like 5 years ago. Old news for me.

Good for you?

My last D3's lasted a year, that being with me doing construction work, yardwork, and everything else you can think of in them. They're tough mofos.

They seem kind of flat to me. If I had to choose a pair, I'd choose the ones Delph got, the colors complement each other and it has a nice retro look to it.

Only a year? PFFFT.

I have a pair of Adidas sneakers that I've had for going on 5 years, and they've seen damn near everything and they aren't ready for the trash yet.

Are they ever going to fix future posting? It's usually managable but it makes this thread very confusing...

And yeah, you get what you pay for...I bought payless shoes once and they are crappy quality. They were uncomfortable..the laces broke very fast. Just completely crappy shoes.

I always wear Vans now. I tried Reebok, Puma, Nike, Sketchers and a whole bunch of other shoes. The other shoe brands are expensive and they don't last long unless you REALLY take care of the shoes.

Reebok and Nike go more for the looks than the durability in my experience, and they can both take a pretty large chunk out of your wallet. Puma shoes can also be expensive but the suede 'slip-on' shoes they make are really comfortable for just walking around and they look pretty neat as well. The problem with the Puma 'slip-ons' are that they fall apart way too easy. The front end usually ends up ripping and your toes poke through. The fabric is comfortable, but it isn't made for running around.

Nike, Reebok, and Sketchers all gave me the same problem. I am flat-footed so my feet obviously need more room. The problem with these three brands of shoe is that they are made very sleek and tight looking. So after a few months the sides of these shoes end up getting destroyed.

Vans are very large, roomy, long lasting, low cost, and good looking shoes. Each pair I buy has lasted me a few YEARS, forget about months! As a matter of a fact the only reason I got rid of my last pair of Vans was because my feet had grown too large. The shoes are still in great condition!
Think while it's still legal.

I have a similar problem, SAJN. My right foot is completely flat, my left foot is slightly flat, and both are wide. Most major brands don't have shoes in a wide style or shoes in a wide size, e.g. 11w, 11 wide, 11 x-wide or whatever. I've had a pair of New Balance running shoes for over a year, they're still in decent condition. I'm replacing them because of wear at the heel...actually, the vertical part where your heel slides in. I've worn that down pretty good. And because they've got paint on them.

I will honestly wear just about any show that fits me comfortably, regardless of brand. However, I have found Reebok to consistently have shoes that comfortably fit my feet. Of the four pair of shoes I currently own (not counting dress or marching shoes), three are Reeboks, two of which are several years old. All throughout high school when I ran cross country and track, I wore one pair of Reebok running shoes that lasted me almost all the way through. I did have a pair of Nikes that I bought my senior year, but those lasted all of track season, and then had to be tossed because they were air-cushioned, and got destroyed.

So at least for me, Reebok's > *.

I wear tennis shoes. Sneakers suck.

I've found that with the brand name shoes, spending no more than $50 will get you a basic pair of shoes that will alst a long time, at least when it comes to running shoes. I have a pair or New Balances that I've had for over two years now and only recently did they start really falling apart. Prior to that, I had a pair of Adidas running shoes. They lasted me forever, then my brother started wearing them recently as work shoes. Can't day much for Nike since their shoes tend to be narrow and I have wide feet. I'm pretty much going to stick with NB now since they really seem to make some great shoes that will last a good long time.

I personally hate the look/feel of Vans or anything suchlike. It's hard to find me trainers, my feet are narrow as hell.

My Starters are approaching their one year anniversary. Still in mostly great shape. Only the front end is "ventilated" with some sort of mesh-like material, which lets moisture in when it's wet out, but it keeps my feet from getting all sweaty and gross during drier weather.

Had those for a while, found them pretty comfortable. Now I've got Pegasus 2004 for running and Mesa Ventalators for just wearing every day. The Merrels are 7 years old and are still in great shape and feel good.

I've always wanted a pair of Osiris D3s... but then I realized they looked like moonshoes. I've heard they're comfy beyond belief though.
