Uhhh... yeah... it's a natural disaster. It doesn't discriminate.

Very true.

But I was curious as to whether you felt sorry for victims of natural disasters or ascribed to the attitude of "well, they shouldn't live there."

It sucks hard that their houses got blown away/drowned. Some of them lifelong homes suddenly under 16 ft of water. However, I cannot accept that they are 100% victims of natual disasters. The only people I can accept whole are people who absolutely cannot move away from hurricane prone areas. Children come to mind. I'm sure there are others. But if you willing chose to live in an area where natural disasters can occur frequently, and have means of moving, well, you have to accept the fact that your home can be obliterated.

She's supposed to represent the President abroad. Her opinions are secondary to that. Whether or not she's a stand alone politician maybe you could like, or respect, her for her accomplishments. Sure doesn't make her sound like an idiot to me.

Thanks for putting words in my mouth, but I never said, or implied, anything like that. I simply said that anyone that spends that much money on shoes must have a screw loose.

If she can afford it why not? It's not like she's selling her car to pay for them...if she has enough money then why does it make her crazy to pay that much for shoes?
