Oh and if the thread needs an excuse... it's promoting the movie :P in case anyone hasn't heard of it, it needs to be heard of. As much promotion as possible :P.
And discuss of course.

I wish I had a cunning Jayne hat. :(

I'm really looking forward to the movie though. I'm going to try to ask for the day off from work so I can go. If they won't give me the day off, I think I may just call in sick.

GAH! I'm so psyched for this movie! My brother and my cousin are coming down here to take me to see it. Of course, that'll require finding a nearby theater that's playing it... shiz I forgot to look that up.

OBI-WAN: Temp steady. Hatches open, flaps extended, drag fins . . .

A large part of the ship breaks away.

ANAKIN: We lost something.

OBI-WAN: Not to worry, we're still flying half the ship.

ANAKIN: Now we're really picking up speed . . . I'm going to shift a few degrees and see if I can slow us down.
,,,,,,,,,,...........................
VERSUS
,,,,,,................................

Wash: I'm a leaf on the wind. Watch me soar.

Serenity dodges lazers and other ships. A ship swings debris from a fighter around.

Mal: Chicken's come home to roost.

Giant piece of a ship crashes into Serenity and bounces off.

Mal: ...the hell?

Wash: It's ok. ... I'm a leaf in the wind.

Mal: What does that mean?

:P methinks dialogue, at the least is better than RotS

I think the stills might not look as pretty in serenity, but the full motion shots will be better, based on what I see in the clip.

I think we can see theres no conest.

I just got finished watching Firefly (the short-lived TV series version that's prompting this movie). I was skeptical about the unanimous praise the series got before seeing it, but now having seen, I must agree -- the series is just awesome. I have some gripes with it on pure principle (such as, oh look, another souless super-government/corperation) but they don't matter, as the show is still pure awesome.

Having said that, I'm skeptical about the movie, and whether it will stay true to the TV series. For instance, it seems they're adding sound effects to the space fights from the trailers -- a minor example, but one that may suggest there will be larger/worse inconsistancies. I hope I'm proven wrong again :)

"You want to run this ship?"

"Yes"

"Well....you can't"

"...this landing is going to get pretty interesting"

"Define interesting"

"Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"

"This is the Captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence so we may experience some slight turbulence and then...explode."

Yes, I would say the dialogue in this movie is pretty darn good. I can't wait. Also, Shepherd Booke isn't in any of the clips, I wonder if they left him in the movie. While he wasn't the most pivotal character, I'm really curious about his background. We shall see...

Doh *gets rid of the extra post*

Shepard Book apparently gets a small role. The Sequal to Serenity will supposedly deal with Book's past.

Buy firefly the complete series. now.
It'll be the best 30-40 bucks you've ever spent, especially if you don't know what it is, you're in for a treat. I wasn't expecting much when I bought it, when I saw it I was in agony because of how incredibly awesome it was.

Having never seen a single minute of Band of Brothers, I trusted you guys and spent nearly 100 bucks on it. GREAT. ADVICE. <3.

I will trust y'all again and buy Firefly before watching a single episode. Damn you if you lied to me . But I know you're not ;).

I ordered my hat online.

The acrylic is the cheapest, though I think it went up in price over the last few weeks by a few dollars.

Again, here's the link for a comparison shot. :P

I had to settle for this shiny shirt:

from www.shinyshirts.net .

I would really like to find a brown duster... I searched for so long online and all I could find was an exact replica ranging in the $400 range, hopefully I'll be able to search a few thrift stores to get a better priced one
Ya know? Common sense? Not really that common...

The funny thing is, Jayne actually looks pretty bad-*** in that hat.

I am so TOTALLY PSYCHED about the movie. I'm, like, crazy-go-nuts-multiplied-by-infinity PSYCHED. It's my fave series ever, and I hope the movie will be equally awesome. I didn't think it would be that popular, until they started showing commericals for Serenity on TV. THEN I got PSYCHED. I was liked, "OMG PSYCH". I'm gonna go see it with my brother and maybe some ppl from school. A love of Firefly is one of the few things I have in common with my brother.:D

I just realized.

I have a friend whose parents are movie critics...

This friend is about to get a call from one happydud.

Also: I secured a duster from my school's drama department. The theatre teacher and I keep seeing each other at these types of events, so I just go down to her room and steal her clothing/costumes, and we have all sorts of fun.
