Total Overdose Demo
2005-09-21, 11:27 PM #1
It's like Max Payne + GTA3. Surprisingly quite a bit of fun. Dunno how long it would last but I had a blast and found it much more fun than Serious Sam 2.

There aren't enough enemies though.

Pretty fun.

There are loads of enemies in that one level! Just drive around instead of doing the objectives.

Even then theres only about 30-40 guys.

With a game like that, its better to deal in the hundreds :)
2005-09-22, 2:42 PM #10
I'm betting the full game has alot more enemies... I'm going to be picking this up at launch.

Is it just me, or does the game also look like GTA only at a higher resolution..

I love how on the website the 'USA' version is the only one that asks for age verification.

Haha! That was super fun. The guitar cases were freaking awesome! :D

That was pretty fun. Short, but fun. The only thing that bothered me were the extremely lo-res textures in the cutscenes. In-game, it wasn't so bad.

The 'rewind' function is an ingenious twist to 'save game'. So much better than the standard console 'save points'.

I found 85 on my most recent attempt. But then I accidently did a slow-mo cartwheel up a wall and over a railing while shooting 2 bad guys in the head but plummeted to my death 100 feet below with no rewinds left. So there's probably more than that.

Walk through all the plantation areas and look inside all the buildings. There is one fun building with some dynamite and a lot of explosive barrels lying around.

Damn I gotta find someway to get this goodness in my computer.

-The download takes forever and leaves no space for the game though. Bugger.

Oh man, this game is awesome.
The demo is too short of-course, as any demo of awesome games are. I want the full version already!

I LOVED IT

I like beat people with a shovel, then headshotted people, and drove a tractor shooting a sawed off at a midget wielding a shovel.

This gets my seal of approval

I got 90 guys on my last run, as well as the rocket launcher and grenade launcher. I also discovered the joy of ziplines. I think I want this game now. Plus, Mexican rock > you.

Yeah, 90's my biggest count too. That was the first time I started using the headshot button too. I couldn't see the point of it till I combined it with wall flipping. Your chances of hitting anything without it while cartwheeling off the wall is very slim.

Oh! oh! oh! And I managed to get a cap catcher bonus or something. I shot the guy dead while leaping towards him and his hat landed on my head! I got a nifty bonus (I think it was like 90 points) and got to keep the hat for a little while.

My god this game rocks.

That is awesome :D

In the way of explosive devices there's the grenade launcher, rocket launcher, dynamite, molotovs, and just about any vehicle.

One of my coolest moments so far involved finding a group of gringos standing around a fuel tank, throwing a stick of lit dynamite into the back of a pickup and quickly flooring it towards the fuel tank before leaping out at the last moment then capping the 2 gringos in super-slow-motion that had somehow survived the massive blast before I hit the ground. Fun stuff.

101 gringos last run through. Use all the zip lines.

I don't mean to shatter the 'awesome!' tone of this thread, but I just got the full version and.. well..

It most certainly does have the same awesome! that the demo does, and has a lot of it.. but it also has quite a lot of not-so-awesome! stuff too. Unnecessary GTA3-style drive-around-a-little-city gets quite boring largely because the vehicles aren't nearly as good for real driving and it generally wants to be GTA3 a little too much. But beyond that, the missions are total fun, it's just a shame that there's the tedious filler material inbetween.

I don't get it.
I downloaded.
I installed (after uninstalling practically my entire computer to make room).
I double click the icon.
Nothing.
I use the "Repair" thing in the install file.
I double click.
Nothing.
Nothing.
NOTHING!

Did you reboot?
2005-09-24, 5:51 PM #34
I've gotten all 99 enemies, all weapons, and destroyed all possible destroyable things. It seems rather overrated to me, and in general, only worth the Demo, and maybe a rent.

I got 94, rocket launcher, all weps... 'twas fun... can you get into the li'l ranch house? projectiles won't go over the walls
2005-09-24, 10:41 PM #40
No. I set up cars and footplanted between them up to the wall: I should have went over, but it just reacted like a wall.
