My recent purchase
2005-09-28, 9:11 PM #1
Hey, just thought I'd show you guys my most recent buy.
It's a 1946 Russian Mosin Nagant, 7.62 x 54. I have to clean it up, before I can shoot it though, because it was kept in preservation oil before I bought it. I can't wait!
So, in light of my new buy, post things that you've bought recently!

*PS* I look like a douche in this picture.

Why would you shoot that? That thing's an antique! Preserve it!
Who made you God to say "I'll take your life from you"?

I plan on buying a rifle when I'm older.

Assuming I'm still living in the U.S.

Nice gun.

I would be so torn if I owned that (one of my fav guns). I would want to shoot it, but I'd want to save it...
I'd probably buy a nice one to preserve and a not so nice one to shoot off. Nice buy!

uhm... guns are meant to be fired... so shoot it... just make sure to take good care of it and give it a proper cleaning each time

and that one looks like it's the M44... at least you'll have an easier time finding a case it will fit in... mine is a M91/30... it's a bit longer... (by roughly 8 inches)

Who cares, you have a gun with a big *** bayonet on it. If anyone messes with you, stick 'em. :p

I'd love to get my hands on some WWII era guns to shoot them and such. It'd be totally fun.

that gun looks almost as long as you are tall.

Nope, it goes about up to my bellybutton. (not including bayonette)
2005-09-28, 10:40 PM #12
then you are a bad judge of size... that gun is only about 40" long (without bayonet)

how cute... you look so excited, Mono.

How old are you, like 12?

And yes, It is an M44 Mosin Nagant, produced in 1946. The M44 is characterized by it's permanently affixed bayonette. ;)
And I'm 15, ***.

Nice rifle, no offense though, compared to you the gun looks like it would take off your arm the first time you shot it :p

Monoxide and I are twins, so yeah he's 12...>_> ok, maybe not.

Nice gun. Clean it, shoot it, clean it some more. Don't go overboard with the shooting IMO...that's a nice gun.

And yeah..what DrkJedi82 said. Strippers clips would be a nice thing to have.

Oh, and what's the gun length? Because if you're 5' 5", that looks like it'd come up higher than your belly button...
I had a blog. It sucked.

i dont see the point in heavy discussions about guns until you kill a man.

i mean, lawnmowers dont get attention like that till you kill someone with them.

I would LOVE to get my hands on a M1 Garand.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

You know, I kinda agree with thrawn now...

It scares me that a 15 year old can obtain a weapon to end someone's life. Immensely.

Technically it's not his until he's 18. The owner (a parent I'm assuming) should keep it in a safe to prevent such an activity.
