See the first 9 minutes of Serenity for free (completely legal)

It helps to have a good connection, as this is streamed. Quality is great for streamed media-- it's about 50-75% DVD quality for the high-quality stream and I experienced no buffering problems or dropped frames.

I'm definitely going to see this movie now, i probably wouldn't have if i hadn't seen this.

mplayer plays it all, including that.

Not here.
Did you try it under Linux? Perhaps I just need the right codec. But googling didn't help me...

mplayer does NOT play it all :P

Try VLC? Dunno.

Man that makes me want to see it again. Go see it you foolish fools who havent yet!

Shame that it stopped where it did, the next scene has some of the best dialogue of the whole movie.

You're correct. Neither will. As a matter of fact, none except that java client will.

It's a brand new proprietary format, that is using the VIVO extension (cause they suck).

I didn't know there was a black man with a sword in that movie, I'll have to see it now. The Matrix was the first time I experienced... true pleasure.

Hmm, was expecting it to be cheesy, not too bad.

It's not cheesey at all. I just saw Serenity last night and it rocks. I wasn't sure about going to see it myself, but damn I'm glad I did.

Main reason why I was skeptical was because it was made by the people that made Angel and Buffy (both shows I consider incredibly cheesy :p).

I've first heard of both Serenity and Firefly on Massassi, but, damn. This looks sweet. Too bad it'll only get to my local cinemas in a month or two. Silly Hungarians.

This looks pretty good but.. is it better to have seen the TV series first? I've never seen the TV show.

Huh, I didn't know that, else I would've been even more sceptical. I agree both shows are incredibly cheesey.
And JKwhosaysNi, I can't say if it'd be better or not, but I assure you it's a good movie even if you've never heard of the series, as I speak from experience.

Gah! Thanks alot, now I'm going to have to go see the movie again!
2005-10-08, 7:27 PM #34
I've NEVER seen an episode of firefly in my life, but the opening scenes in the 9 min clip kinda made me regret that, from the looks of it they set up the plot nicely for people who've not seen the show, I certainly did not know about the allaince and the outer planets and the war that ensued, all I knew was that it was a space cowboy kinda idea.

but I think I might have to see this movie now.

[dirtysecret] I kind of like Buffy and Angel. The drawn out main plotline kind of bores me (ala X-Files really) but the small bizarre incidents are cool, like the episode where a demon that feeds on children's souls via television turns Angel into a muppet. Attached is a picture of muppet Angel leading the gang into battle. Dorky but entertaining. [/dirtysecret]

I still haven't seen Firefly or Serenity, but the first 9 minutes seemed interesting, there were some cool transitions.
