Starship Troopers is a great book.

The movie is terrible and really has nothing to do with it.

y'know, if the majority thinks something is funny, and you don't, that might be a sign that it's not their sense of humor that's the problem

just a thought

Or it might be the fact that most of you are geeks with a lame sense of humor.

Starship Troopers was a comedy that too many people took seriously. It's a great movie.

I was expecting an article about all the passengers on a plane getting killed by someone's pet snake, or something...

On another note, I'm back after about 2 months! But nobody really knows me here, so I'm okay.

Seconded... somewhat reluctantly however.

Raoul you're no different from the rest of us... Sure we vary, but if you're so intent on making sure you're on the high-class elite humor end of the spectrum, why even visit?

I haven't read the book. But I have heard that the two do not coincide.. But then that's irrelevent. You have to take the movie for what it is. A movie. They didn't call it "Starship Troopers: And interpretation of the book of the same name." They just called it "Starship Troopers."

And as far as the "Snakes on a Plane" title goes... I have no problem with it, as long as it doesn't spawn a myraid of hollywood copycats and we start watching movies like "A guy and a girl that fall in love" or "A bald dude with a bad temper and a beef with the mob." Seriously.. It can only be done once, imo.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Normally I would agree, but I really liked the source material.
