As there seems to be interest abound, some additional information about the ROTK:EE:

Peter Jackson was quite busy with many commitments during the awards season. Since he was away from New Zealand, he could not cut an extended version of the film. Traditionally, after he cuts the film, there are months and months of work to do to complete the cut – including Howard Shore’s additional score and Weta Digital’s new special effects.

For the special features, many of the interviews with the cast and crew were completed during pickups for the next film, as everyone was in the same place (New Zealand). Now that all filming is complete, everyone is scattered across the world – making it more difficult to get the interviews to create bonus materials.

It would have been ideal to release it sooner, but we didn’t want to compromise the quality of the DVD to get the product in stores earlier.

Q: How long is the Extended version of The Return of the King?

A: It looks like the running time will be over four hours long.

Q: What additional scenes were added?

A: Like The Two Towers extended version, the story of Faramir is shown in greater detail. There are returning characters and new characters, such as Saruman after the flooding of Isengard and the Mouth of Sauron at the Black Gate. Much of the new footage contains extra dialogue and action to further elaborate on each character’s personal journey.

god hates me. Earlier today I posted that I got ROTK, now I find that my DVD Player is broken [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] . Man, this ruins everything. I can still watch it on my pc, but then massassi would distract me.

First, it's the "Scouring of the Shire" not the "Scourging". But that's beside the point.

Time and time and time and time and time and time again the directors,producers, cast members, and visual effects people have said that the Scouring WILL MOST CERTAINLY NOT BE IN THE Extended Edition. They never even filmed any of it, except for that one scene with the mirror in Fellowship, and that was all special effects.

If you want to see pretty much what exactly is going to be in ROTK:EE, go to http://www.rotk-see.de.vu/ . And again, the scouring will not be in the EE.

And also, btw, they always call it the "Special Extended Edition". It's just now being referred to as just the Extended Edition.

Liv Tyler isn't all that good looking if you ask me either. And also, the truth of the matter is, very few guys get laid based on their looks. If you can work your words with the ladies, you can be ugly as ****, and you'll get laid just fine. It also helps to have a low deep voice when you talk to them, but not everyone can have that. I'd take my voice over good looks any day... Guys DO get laid for bodies though.. but you can always fix problems like that. The fact is, if you're good enough at it, rumors spread, and you'll have sluts (not decent girls) beating your door down trying to get in your pants, even if you're the ugliest thing around.

ahah, Krig...... And yeah. Last night I opened up my DVD player(the broken one) (I've never seen the inside of one before), the thing seemed to be built just like a pc. It had an IDE cable connecting it to the output, and a tiny power supply thing. Which had the same cable as a pc power cable. So I cleaned the laser. And used some of my trumpet oil on the slider thing. It seemed slugish, and gettting stuck. I thought it might of been the problem. And what do you know, it fixed it.

Secondly, i heard from else that the scouring was in the EE, and they were sure of thier source, but *shrug* guess not. Sorry for the misinformation, folks.
