ANOTHER EDIT: You don't need to hate the Xbox to vote on that option.

The Xbox 360's launch date is extremely close. I was just wondering who will be wanting it badly enough to pick it up on the first day. If there was already tons of threads on this, I apologize, I just haven't been around lately.

But if not, and then that means this is a reasonable thread, who's going to be buying it on launch day? And if you are not going to, or just not buy it in general, please post why.

I, personally, am actually waiting for all the systems to be realesed (I'm betting Nintendo will be a while, so I'm waiting till PS3 comes out, and then I'll make my decision). I just want to see which one has the games that I will mostly play, which one suites me...etc...

I will definately be getting a hold of one, although nt on launch day (or anytime close to it). I will either a) wait for the price to drop, b)wait for a really good, must-have game (Splinter Cell 4, KOTOR3), or c) let my brother buy it.

I'm getting one, but most likely not on the launch day.

The Xbox games attract me the most from any of the upcoming consoles. Elder scrolls mainly. PS3 (for me) works up from its big series, which I have never followed, or really liked (MSG, Devil May Cry, etc.)

I'll rent it to play some Halo 3 when that is released, but other than that I'm staying away. I'm done with school in about 7 months so I probably won't have time to game.

Xbox 360, brother's getting a Revolution. Gonna get it after Xmas, after i've gotten my birthday/Christmas money, and I'm going for the expensive package because I NEED backwards compatibility. That's 1/2 my reason for buy a 360.

Getting none of them. Although I don't hate any of them, I think consoles are inferior in general.

Bear in mind it's not all titles. A very select few ATM, more will be patched in.

I will wait for reviews of each console to see what I want to buy. However, going by the information currently available, I think I will buy the Revolution.

The 360 seems like just a rehash of the current system, and it seems like there are limitations that would limit it's goodiness (limited backwards compatibilty). The PS3 is a possibility, though I've heard rumors that it will be incredibly expensive. Rumors though they may be, I'll wait until it is actually released before deciding. I will have to wait for some good titles to come out for the Revolution before I get it, but I think it will be the console I end up buying.

Never saw the point of getting a console on launch. They're more expensive, there isn't a massive range of games, and the games are more expensive too. I'm perfectly happy with my (more than reasonably-specced) PC and original Xbox for the time being, but I may get one eventually.

I think all three consoles support the pre-generation games. (i.e. Revolution will run GC discs)

But yeah, I agree on the price thing. I may wait 6 months before I buy it. The only tihng I'll ever get on the release day is my preordered copy of Twilight Princess.

thats only at the start, the 360 does software emulation and as such, they only want to get the top games out, the best sellers and the platinum hits will be first to be emulated and download their profile to the HDD.

once the system has been out for a while more profiles for more games will be avalable from Xbox live and possible Xbox mag demo disc', so eventually you will be able to play all your games on the 360, it'll just take a year or two for the developers to create and distribute the profiles for them.

I highly doubt it will be all x-box titles...
