...it's less expensive to ship all of the DVDs in the same kind of case with the same kind of cover. So, yes, I would think that they would be in the same case.

Nope. Its original. I swear it. Plus I payed 22 bucks for it. All bootlegs cost like 5 bucks at MOST. Heck, they give em out for free some times.

LOOK AT WHAT YOU JUST BOUGHT. Look at the cheap plastic container, the ugly CDs, the lack of menus, cheap design and such. Come on! You even mention there were errors and problems when running the CDs!

It seems you bought a pirated copy.

My case is 100% in spanish with english subtitles in a few spots...

Hi-res pictures are also not proof. The case is clear, and if you can show me the other PT DVDs in similar cases I might buy your theory. Also, where's the DVD insert? At $22.00 you got ripped off - even if it were the real DVD.

By the way, I google image searched for "mexican revenge of the sith" First result was a small thumbnail of the DVD case which looks everything like Wolfy's and nothing like yours.

"bootleg revenge of the sith" brings up a couple of thumbs closer to yours, but it's hard to see (they're far too small)

Gold, you make me laugh. And so I laugh at you. I'm gonna buy my copy from a legit place and it won't have a clear case, will have a chapter insert, and will just not be boot-leg.

All versions of Big Fish came in clear cases though, why would only one of the Star Wars movies come in such a case?

It does have a dvd chapter thingy btw... I just didn't show a picture of it...

Which disk? 1 or 2?

Also, on a side note, I'm using my scanner now... however it has some green lines on every image, they are NOT part of the true image. I'm using a 7 year old scanner atm, thats about all I have, its slow, not the best quality. So its still gonna look crappy.

Both disks.

I meant the bottom. (The side without a picture on.)

Anyway, I dunno if it's real.... or really care. The only thing that looks iffy to me is the quality of the printing on the dvd itself but that may just be because the image was resized.

Well there is the rainbow effect, and the rings, and in the center of the rings there is some sort of serial number that can only be seen with the rainbow thingy.

Btw, the dvd errors are my fault... it appears that my software isn't working right with any dvd, so I had to reinstall, and now it works perfectly.

See guys? Perfect proof right there. People selling illegal copies would never think of trying to get a large profit.

Big Fish and Saw.

Saw was one of the most popular rentals worldwide for about 3 months there. Some video stores were shipped several hundred copies - that's a lot of discarded clear white plastic cases. I'm guessing someone did a little dumpster diving outside a San Diego Hollywood Video.

As far as the case goes, the lack of a WIDESCREEN/FULLSCREEN bar at the top of the DVD case is a clear giveaway. All Star Wars releases in all locales have the format bar at the top of the case and the THX bar at the bottom.

Turn the DVD over and post an image of it. I'm betting $5 it looks like a DVD-R. If the underside is purplish in color, it is of most definite bootleg.

Shall I post an image of my German version of AotC in a clear case without any silly widescreen/fullscreen crap?

And besides, bootlegs are often pressed, like all other DVDs as well. Or do you think someone sits besides his computers to change DVDs?
And *gasp* stores do get the DVD before it is released. Did you know that?

Dear thread started, let it be known upon you that in Russia you can buy stuff weeks, no, months before original (theatre!!!) release on DVDs for $5 and I'm not talking about under-the-table sort of deals.

Obviously, everyone understands that these copies would never live up to the standards of the real DVD editions, and just buy 'em to decide if the movie's worth buying a movie ticket. Or at least, that's my impression.

Therefore, in your naivete, you most tragically fail.
