I'm glad she's placing blame where blame is due. Instead of her drunk son holding a gun up to his head, it was the gun's fault.

I believe you're confusing "role model" with "stereotype". A role model is a person to whom others in the same social or behavorial culture look up to and attempt to emulate, whereas a sterotype is a generic classification of all people within a said culture.

/shrug ]-[ may not have been eloquent about it, but it's just an opinion- he's not required to like rap or have a high opinion of rappers... and saying that they don't all suck is unlikely to change his mind.

For my part... a pen gun is a pretty dumb idea anyway- and playing with it is just begging to set it off by accident, even if it has a safety. It makes me kinda sad that he'd dead and all, but at least he didn't hurt someone else o_0.

You assume that I am a yuppie white kid from the suburbs, as opposed to the poor Mexican kid who lives in the ghetto in San Bernardino. I am quite familiar with the whole lifestyle, and it disgusts me. I don't much mind the "music", as much as the whole attitude behind it.
