page 6. yay.

page 5 is really stupidly misleading. The quake and model thing is only supposed to help you get the md5 part (since quake models are .mdl + crypt = OMG md5) ), but I already HAD the md5 part so it threw me off

MD5 doesn't work, I tried that FIRST.

Okay, I cheated (yeah, I suck, whatever) and got to the last page ( the one with the big list of hexadecimal numbers ). Is there any way to convert a big list of hexadecimal numbers to a big list of decimal numbers? Doing it by hand is going to take centuries, and I suck at teh programming

kyle, the hex has already been converted into Decimal, Text, Binary, RGB, EVERYTHING, noone can figure it out. Someone even turned it into a picture, but still...nothing.
Think while it's still legal.

You have to md5 something and use the result string.

It works because I got to page 6 :p

I just happened to have left a quick md5er I wrote lying around so I played around with various strings and one worked. (IT's in the paragraph)

6, however, is pissing me off. The only thing I noticed was the mispelling of "sheer," but I haven't been able to tie that to anything..

It just got me thinking... when he said "quake" and "model"... and the number series bears a passing resemblance to a RAW file used in some 3d programs. Maybe? Or am I thinking way too hard about this.

aaaah. I got to the end on my own. Some of those are clever, but the [second to] last one I got by sheer luck. Is there any reason why it's what it is? I basically guessed, because I knew there was only one left.

If you help me get past 6 I could help you :p

So far all I've gotten is
2147483647 is upper bound for int data type, or
the sequence is of perfect numbers (2^n - 1)

Let's just say there are some directories that aren't exactly a new level in the game. It has something to do with a particular format mentioned in the clue.

I still don't get it. :(

As for page five, pay attention to the last few words in the clue: "...get a bit more cryptic on page 5."

Or more precisely: get cryptic on "page 5"

Pair that with the "quake and model" (md*) clue, and I hope you can figure it out.
2005-12-15, 8:47 PM #63
Work backwards with all the words in that clue, then reread everything I've said about non-game-directories.

I think after I guessed it [I tried 'end' and 'complete' etc] I sort of gave up trying to think about that one.

Oh, and I didn't find any of these easy :-P

The MD5 one, however, was the hardest.
