A level-up system does not in any way define an RPG. The classic RPG is defined simply as a game "where players role-play by assuming the role of a character in a fictional world."

Zelda can be logically classified as an RPG.

Zelda has elements of an RPG, yes, but action-adventure is more accurate, like most people said. I'd crack out one of my videogame design books, but I'm too lazy to do that.

I rephrase my old post. The only good ones were Kingdom Hearts, Wild Arms 3, and FFXI. Don't get me started about FFX and FFX-2. FFXII is going to rock though.
