I hope he one day he tries to show off his gun and shoots himself in the face. "Well, I THOUGHT it was unloaded." That or I can just give him a bag of pretzels.

Um, you're baliming him becasue he happened to mount a gun from the leader of the country we recently beat (well, we beat the goverment. the otehr people are being a tad bit of a problem)? Its called a trophy, and it took what, 2 seconds to put up? its not like he stares at it for hours at a time. its jsut there so he can brag to visitors.

I agree, its just their for a bit of symbolism.
I suppose if you thought about it long enough you could read all sorts of negative or positive things into it, but thats just pointless speculation.
I know if I was responsible for taking him down I'd keep his weapon too.
Whats wrong with keeping a little memento?

I don't know why you would say he's worried about it, and I don't think it makes any sense that anyone else is worrying about it. Pick a real issue to be concerned with.

Exactly. Modern leaders who condemn tens of thousands of people to death in wars are supposed to be racked with self-doubt, agonizing for weeks before finally making the decision. The rest of their lives are supposed to be spent obsessing over the correctness of their choice and the dead they're responsible for. At minimum, they should at least pretend that ordering the deaths of hundreds of American citizens had some lasting effect on their psyche. Taking and bragging about unearned trophies sort of destroys the illusion of a somber President who understands the weight of his choices.

As anti-bush as I am, I really don't think this is an issue. So he kept a trophee.. big deal!

However, I found it hillarious that they had to stuff this bit in the article;

but why does he have to keep it...it aint like he did anything...give it to the platoon that found the dude. The first place that thing shoulda gone was the dumpster cuz thats all the gun is worth. Instead tax payers money to put that thing in an aircraft and fly that worthless piece of whaa 3000+ miles to the White House.

Unless they had one plane specifically for crating the gun over, I don't see how the 'tax-payers' are really so hurt by this.
Like I said before, you can read all sorts of things into this, but really your just creating more issues needlessly.
Stop worrying about what the big mean government hangs on its wall, seriously

being canadian.. and a soilder.. I know our natial defense sucks so dont bother bashing.. Listen to the song.. shows how I feel on this situation with your president.. Only thing I would take a trophy of.. is what of I am humble for, it is never on display for everyone to see.. its for me and those around me to understand what I am humble and greatful for.. thats the only trophy I need.. I dont care for materials.. I wouldnt care if my ps2.. xbox.. gamecube.. big screen tv.. computer and laptop.. all got destroyed.. my truck is beat up anyway.. good ole chevy..

Funny people and thier pride on very little accomplished meanings.. I dont know what side is getting worse, the canadian government or your american presidancy.. I mean, if you want a gun from iraq I can setup a price seriously.. lol.. mocking is great.. hey if you guys want to switch governments for a bit I think canada will be happier.. we would love a president then a prime minister.. we should of given up in the war of 1812.. damn those britts for messing things up and letting quebec run for office..

Say that when a nuclear bomb is denotated in our country killing hundreds of thousands and we *know* who did it.

Note: This isn't saying anyone has any nukes and would use them. It's just a relevant situation.

I'd suspect I was trapped in a Tom Clancy novel and become very depressed, particularly since the wimpy peaceniks always get killed off.

Honestly, the president should deliberate for a few months with his cabinet and Congress, and then authorize a crushing reprisal. Unless immediate action would actually prevent imminent attacks, of course, but that's extremely unlikely. It'd be like 9/11: by the time the president knows about it, it's over.

You realize how drastically different our President list could be if more like 90% of the people voted?
