Also, wasn't that nuke scenaria taken from season 2 of 24? When sort of the whole point was that they didn't 'know' which countries were responsible (or rather, they thought they knew but they got it wrong)

I do think it's odd that the prime target after the WTC attacks was Afganistan, when the logical target would have been Saudi Arabia. I don't know about 'war for oil', but there certainly is 'lack of war for oil'.
