Bugatti Veyron (fastest production car in the world)
2006-01-11, 7:24 AM #1
Get these stats:

- Top speed of 252mph, or 405kph. That's 370 feet or 113 meters per second
- 0-60mph (100kph) in a blistering 2.5 seconds. 0-180mph (290 kph) in just 14 seconds
- 8 litre W16 64 valve engine made from two Audi V8s strapped together
- A staggering 1001bhp (horsepower). The Ferrari Enzo has 660bph, a NASCAR around 750bhp
- No less than 4 turbochargers and 10 radiators
- Price: around £800,000 or $1.4 million USD

This thing is faster and has more power than a Formula1 car, yet you can legally drive it to work every day.

It's also electronically limited to the 405kph top speed. Without the limiters it's estimated the Veyron could easily hit the 450kph mark. That's fast.

I want one.

Top speed: faster than anyone has tried :)
costs only 250,000 USD
Is powered by a Jet engine.

You forgot to mention the fact that the car adjusts itself as the speed increases. At 100mph, the windows automatically shut, for instance. The car adjusts itself so it doesnt take off.

The black version is amazing, but that red looks god aweful.

And I drove my car at 205 kph once and yea... I wouldn't dare go faster. Matter of fact, I wouldn't do 205 again.

your slow *** probably couldn't shift that fast anyway, for something with that much power you'd probably want auto

*ninja edit*
i'm sure it's sequential, with paddle shifters behind the wheel but no clutch

You mention being able to legally drive it to work every day... but let's be serious here, who has $1.4 million laying around to spend on a car that's going to be working every day?

You need to visit Rancho Santa Fe and Del Mar. Some of those bastards have more money than God and I bet they work.

I'd still rather get the Marine Turbine Technologies Y2K. It's faster, harder and DEFINATELY louder. And it has a rolls royce jet engine, not some silly audi V8 twin.

Why would you need a car that fast?

To speed around in, get pulled over and ticketed and then to whine to us about.

Those things are crazy.

As they accelerate they actually accelerate faster and faster.

It starts out REAL SLOW, and then picks up more and more. And they're loud.

I think the highest anyone ever got one too was like ~350mph, and it was still going to go faster and was still accelerating at a growing rate. He wussed out.
2006-01-11, 2:55 PM #21
considering people have driven land vehicles at 760mph, i find it dumb that nobody has pushed that bike to the max.
2006-01-11, 2:58 PM #22
Well, imagine how much it'd suck to break the sound barrier on a motorcycle..
2006-01-11, 3:03 PM #23
well i'd love to see this bike do 760mph, although it'd still suck ***, because bikes are crappy.

Have you ever fallen out of something going even 30 on salt flats? I live 30 minutes away. I have, several times.

I would rather break ribs. IN HALF AND HAVE THEM PUNCTURE MY LUNG AND DIE BECAUSE THAT PAIN SUCKS.

Those cars also have rollcages and insane amounts of safety equipment. On that motorbike, you get a windscreen. :p

lets take into account my friend who died last year because he decided to ride a bike around a crappy driver who just so happened to prove the point that motorbikes get destroyed in accidents with cars... if you drive one lets hope you get hit by a car for the same experiment.

You're calling a guy that rode a bike up to 350 mph a wuss? I'd like to see you do half of that and not be scared ****less.

So.. bikes are 'crappy' because your friend who unfortunatly lost his life in a riding accident? Wow, and your last sentence.... I hope you get hit by a semi truck tomorrow so you can get the same experience my grandparents did.

Lets see, motorcylces.. they are small.. easy to manuver, fast, appealing, and good on gas, and just all around fun machines to ride. And yes, the fact that women like men on bikes is a plus.

It'd be near impossible for the bike to fall at that speed.

If you've ever ridden really fast, you'd know. Infact, its way more comfortable to ride a sport bike at high speeds than it is at low speeds.

Or heres something better, take a bike wheel and hold it at both ends and spin it. Then move your arms.

To be honest, it was probably the ever growing rate of acceleration that made him wuss out, and not the fear of falling.

Spork, its pretty, but it still doesnt match the McLaren F1 for these reasons.

#1 McLaren F1 is cheaper

#1 McLaren F1's 6 litre non-turbo BMW V12 is more efficient

#3 McLaren F1 has EXCELLENT handeling (and breaks)

#4 McLaren F1 [from what I understand of automobile aerodynamics] has a MUCH better shape for high speeds and hugging the road.

#5 McLaren F1 was designed from scratch, meaning it didnt have to rely upon stereotypical Company body style, which holds the Bugatti back.

#6 McLaren F1 is 1000x better looking.

#7 McLaren F1 has 3 seats, and thus...

#7b McLaren F1 has a better centre of gravity/equilibrium, due the driver sitting in the centre of the car.

#8 McLaren F1 was designed over 10 years ago.

#9 McLaren F1 is british made. (ok, sheer bias there)

#10 McLaren F1 has not been dismissed by Jeremy Clarkson as second best to the Bugatti.

#11 McLaren F1 always has and always will have more international recognition as the WORLDS BEST SUPER CAR EVER MADE.

I think I have made my point.

Its nice Spork, but it's poor copy of what the McLaren successfully achieved.
