Nineteen votes for teams that have since been eliminated, and the Bears are down at halftime.

I like the Colts, and it was a shame to see them lose like that, but I can't say I'm too broken up about another home playoff game.

I saw that and I was like OH ****! THE BUS FUMBLED! But yeah, Vanderjagt NEVER MISSED a field goal the entire season at home and the one crucial kick, he botches. I think the Colts aren't the team that everyone expects. All it took was a little pressure on Manning and points dried up like water in a desert. San Diego proved it on week 15. The Steelers proved it today.

Oh and the Steelers got robbed of that interception no question.

Yeah, they definately deserved that interception. A friend and I were watching the game together. He wanted the Colts to win, and I was for the Steelers. That was an intense 4th quarter in my living room.

And though I'm glad the Steelers won, how could you miss that field goal SO BADLY?? The most accurate kicker in NFL history (or so said the announcers) and he missed it. I mean. . .wow. . .

Yeah, I bet the kicker puts a bullet in his head later this week. Actually, I think one of his teammates will put the bullet in his head...

Damn, 25 out of 33 of us (75.8%) voted for teams that were eliminated during the divisional playoffs. No question about it, there were some great games this weekend.

First the Bengals lose to the Steelers, then the Colts lose on a botched FG...

The Steelers fans in my first period class will be having a field day when school starts Wednesday. :(

It's okay. After this week, they'll all be very, very sad.

What confounds me is, someone voted for the Patriots after they got eliminated  (yesterday, there were 9 votes; today, there are 10)

Hehe.

If the Broncos win again, my friend will become unbearable... but I don't see the Steelers pulling out another win (of course, I - and everyone else - thought that this past weekend too).

I'll be honest, as a Broncos fan, the Steelers worry significantly me more than the Patriots did. Still, there's a reason no sixth seed has ever made it to a Super Bowl: Winning even two straight on the road in the playoffs, much less three, is nearly impossible. It'll be even harder with this one at altitude in a stadium where no one wins but the home team.

That said, if the Steelers win this weekend and the Panthers (my second choice) don't, I'll gladly find someone to borrow a Steelers hat from and root for them in the Super Bowl.

Super bowl will be Caolina and Denver. I am still undecided as to who will win.

I am rooting for carolina, poor Deshaun. :( Steve smith is an execptional reciever, but without a balanced attack the panthers have not been as effective, but they still keep pulling it off.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I don't see Carolina besting Seattle. Deshaun is hurt, and if he plays, he'll be playing hurt. Goings' (Foster's backup) abilities cannot be quite measured since he really didn't play against much of a defense Sunday. Delhomme & Smith are a good combo. They will put points on the board. But there is only so much those two can do. And if Seattle figures out that that's what Carolina's best is, I would hate to be them.

I voted Seahawks... But it's just wishful thinking. It'll probably go to the Panthers. :(

For now, I want to see a Super Bowl pitting the Steelers (my home team) vs. the Seahawks. Great games coming up to determine if this will indeed happen.

Man, just about every combination of teams possible in this year's playoffs would have made an interesting Super Bowl. I'm undecided as to who will go and who will win. Probably the most interesting Playoffs I've seen in a while.

^I agree wholeheartedly. All of these teams are solid, and will be exciting to see in the Super Bowl.

Saying Steve Smith is an exceptional receiver is the understatement of the year. Steve Smith is just freaking scary. At this point, even calling him the best player in the NFL just doesn't do him justice. Coaches know he's the only guy on the Panthers they have to stop in order to win, he's triple-covered from the moment he steps off the bus until his postgame shower, and he still considers it a bad day if he just gets a hundred yards and a score. The next coach to hold him to forty yards should get an automatic induction into the Hall of Fame.

Steve Smith got lucky that the Bears Coaches and DBs absolutely refused to adjust to him. They also apparently forgot to wear cleats. Also on one of his touchdown plays the Bears single covered Smith with Chris Thompson. "whos that?" you are asking... Even the most devoted Bears fans asked that question... he's about 5th on the cornerback depth chart. The Bears deserved to lose thinking Thompson could cover Smith one on one. That play even came after a timeout, and it was 2nd and 20. Absolutely no excuse. It was the play that sealed the game.

It's my theory that he lulled them into a false sense of security by intentionally not scoring in their regular season game. ;)

Yeah. I think the Seahawks are going to put a little more of a stop on Smith. Or at least I hope they at least saw the tapes/game of last Sunday. Like it was said, Smith really is Carolina's only weapon. Last read, DeShaun Foster is out. That's not good. Of course Nick Goings might have a field day. Who's to say. I await Sunday.

Yea he "lulled" them by "only" putting up 14 catches for 160+ yards in that game.

Sure, but you heard the Bears' D bragging all week about keeping Smith out of the endzone. They were certainly impressed with their accomplishment. Although the more I think about it, the more I wonder if maybe they had the right idea, only putting one guy on him. If you can't cover him with three guys, why even bother?

(As you've probably realized by now, I'm not entirely serious. The fact remains that Steve Smith is one scary player, and I'd be surprised if Mike Holmgren has slept more than 10 hours in total since Sunday.)

NOBODY is beating the Hawks at Qwest Field. NOBODY. If the Hawks don't beat 'em, the noise will. That stadium is LOUD! Seahawks are going to the superbowl.
But the super bowl won't be at Qwest. That would be so cool...

The Hawks are lucky Shaun Alexander is going to be able to play and that DeShaun Foster is out for the Panthers because with a top runner on the field, Carolina gets the edge at reciever with Steve Smith.
Pissed Off?

Nick Goings is no slouch at running back. And honestly, is there anyone in Seattle who would rather be missing Matt Hasselbeck or Walter Jones than Shaun Alexander?

Props to the Steelers. A sixth seed team is going to the Super Bowl. That takes all kinds of effort. I didn't think they would pull it off today. I thought that the mile high air would drain them. I've done workouts in high altitudes. It really drains you. But they overcame that and did what they had to do.

No, because the g*ddamn rabbit ears at work stopped functioning properly. I did, however, witness Seattle lay waste to the Panthers.
