SG-1 is shot for star-gate (team) 1. I think.

Nope. The show is actually called Stargate SG-1. It's not stargate stargate 1 :p
And I believe in an episode, they actually say Sierra Gulf 1 when talking over the radio.

....

It's pronounced, at the end of every episode, "Stargate Ess-Gee-One".

"We're recieving Ess-Gee-One's Eye-Dee-See".

"Ess Gee Team" means a "Stargate Team" hurr. "Ess Gee One" is populated by the main characters, but there are also other ones like "Ess Gee Fifteen". It doesn't mean Sierra Gulf. Sierra Gulf is how the military pronounces acronyms so they can be understood in noisy transmissions.

This is a pile of bravo sierra.

Oi. I wasn't clear about what I meant. I do agree with you on the fact that in the show, whenever they talk about SG-1, it does mean stargate (team) 1. But if you think about it, then the title is: Stargate Stargate (team) 1. The only reason I say Sierra Gulf is because it IS a military based show, thus I used the military way of saying it. Why are we even arguing about this? Both ways are technically right as you said sierra gulf is how the military would say it :p lol
I don't really think that we should look that deep into what the title means because it literally is a repeat word, but we use the abbreviation to represent the team itself rather than the stargate program. Did that make any sense? Oh well, I'm done derailing the thread.

I dont get why alot of people like Invader Zim. IMO it's really annoying and something for young kids. Like Barney.

Gir is the delightfully adorable living incarnation of a non-sequitur. That's why.

GIR: I emptied it out.
Zim: Emptied it? Why?!

A 3rd season question for people who watch The Shield:

At the end of the 2nd episode, you see the strike team in a boat throwing bags into the water... now I must have missed something... all I can think of that I missed is that they found out their cash was marked and couldn't use it, or that they found the guns and couldn't bring the case to light but wanted them off the streets... cheers
