Second Quarter could not come fast enough.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Not nearly enough of you care about Tales of Legendia.

NWN2 looks pretty, but unless the gameplay is VERY different....... meh.
2006-01-17, 6:50 AM #10
I loved the gameplay in NWN. Not to mention editing that game.

Tales of Legendia? *checks it out*

Erm... the only Tales of Legendia I've found was a PS2 game... we're talking PC here ;)

The gameplay for NWN was awesome. It was the OC that let it down somewhat. If NWN2 were to be even half as modded as NWN was, then it's already going to be great.
2006-01-17, 8:09 AM #13
NWN2 is on my to buy list. Hopefully the gameplay will be as good just like the first one. The graphics are awesome

So? I'm not. PCs aren't the be-all end-all of the gaming world. Far from it actually.

Oh I know. I'm not a pc fanboy and have no preference. But you can't say "Not nearly enough of you care about Tales of Legendria" when we are talking about PC games. :p Makes not sense.

Its like saying, not nearly enough of you care about baseball at a football game. :p

Well if we're going to talk about non-PC games, I'm looking forward to Me and My Katamari for PSP, the new Tales game for PSP, the new Megaman and Megaman X games for PSP, the FF7 games for PSP, the new GTA game for PSP, GT4 mobile for PSP...hrmm...I'm beginning to see a pattern ;)

Hopefuly they encorporate some key elements of DMing in this instead of wanky tools and whatnot. The more control they allow the DM in this game, the better. I'm DEFINETLY borrowing it before I play it, after spending the 60 bucks on NWNP, I was completelly disapointed. Bad graphics, annoying controls, and subpar dungeon building.

Is it just me, or does this not look all that fancy? To me, it looks on the level with WoW, which isn't saying much.

Its more the game than the actual graphics imo. Character design doesn't look all that sharp for NWN2. Environments do look good with those high definition textures.

Heh, I'm actually wating for Gothic 3 before I buy my new computer. That way I can be certain that I can run it all on max.
Sorry for the lousy German

You most likely wont be able to run it all on max even with the top of the line stuff. :P

It will probably be the same deal as Doom3, Quake 4, Fear, EQ2, etc.

I'm actually quite happy with the character design. One of the shots in particular on the IGN site shows a character with clothes that look like...well, clothes, rather than looking painted on. Maybe I'm just looking forward to updated NWN goodness :p
2006-01-17, 10:19 AM #27
Oh, I agree with the clothing and what not, but one particular screenshot I saw of a bunch of people fighting small fat looking gray goblins looked somewhat blend I'd say.

Maybe I'll get NWN2....if it doesn't take 10 seconds to swing a blade like the first.
2006-01-17, 10:54 AM #29
 I don't remember it ever taking me 10 seconds to swing a blade!

Maybe not 10 seconds but definately unreasonably/unrealistically long. I don't care if a RPG doesn't follow the laws of physics closely or any of that....but making a game that slow paced is rediculous.
2006-01-17, 11:03 AM #32
I have a strong feeling that, yes, NWN2 will also include round times. Which were 6 seconds, IIRC :p
2006-01-17, 11:04 AM #33
Damn, must not of bothered me, because I seriously never took notice of that.

There is a NWScript function named RoundsToSeconds(). I know that the heartbeat script fires every six seconds so that's probably the duration of a round.

I never noticed it too.

2006-01-17, 11:11 AM #35
I noticed it, but never thought it a negative aspect. It basically stopped NWN from being a Diablo clone.

Surely you noticed there was usually a delay between a command you gave in combat being issued and it being carried out?
2006-01-17, 11:12 AM #36
Oh yea, but I guess it just never bothered me. I think I'm going to reinstall it tonight for a game, I just got an itch. Maybe its my butt though... >.>

Dark Messiah could be really good, I'm looking forward to that and NWN2

Dark Messiah isn't an RPG though. Not from what I read. I'm guessing its going to more like Hexen 2 (of course way more advanced now :p)

That's because NWN is more turn-based than 'hack'n'slash' games (Diablo).
woot!
2006-01-17, 11:55 AM #40
There's nothing wrong with turn-based RPG's, but they certainly did make the rounds too long. If they made the rounds the same speed as KOTOR, I'd play it.
