I hate when movies (and certain games) just use controversal topics to get attention.

Eh...just because they're family doesn't mean they know what that person would have wanted. Of course, that probably doesn't matter...

meh, not a huge deal... so a movie is being made and people will protest saying it's against good tase and news agencys will talk about it for half an hour then it'll die down.

so what? Sure 911 sucks, people died and I'm sorry for the loss of american, canadian and other passangers lives. But it's over, it happened, it's done and it's over, it's been over for 5 years and we're still here and we're still alive.

get a ticket, buy some popcorn and enjoy a movie, WWII movies are a dime a dozen and they are based on a real war, LOTS of people died in them too, but meh. I most likey won't waste my money on this movie, I'll just wait until my brother can get it as a free rental and pick it up then, who knows, you might learn more about it then you knew.

Whew. Two pages in 24 hours. New record for me.
So, I read the Wiki on this that was posted, learned some more about it. Cleared some stuff up.
So, at the time it was against FAA regulations for the crew or passengers of an airplane to use force against hijackers (presumably because most hijackers would be better armed and take over planes on the runway, CS style), so the crew probably told the passengers as they were being rounded up to just play along.
The hijackers told the hostages they were going back to the airport, and that there was a bomb on board.
One guy was stabbed before the passengers were rounded up, as an example.

-Here's hoping it's better than Pearl Harbor.

Hey look! I can be a nihilist too!

People died, who cares?

I fly a lot, and most of the planes I've been on don't have them. I think it depends who you fly with, and what model the plane is, though.

And they have been around for a while. Remember Die Hard 2?

Unfortunately they probably all thought it was going to be an old-school hijacking with the plane landing and the terrorists making a list of demands, in which case they had a higher chance of survival individually whereas fighting back would put your own life in particular at serious risk.
Whereas the passengers on Flight 93 had heard about the planes crashing into the WTC towers and realised that they would all die anyway if they didn't try to fight back.

That's why I thought of when I first read it, but the phones weren't on the seats. It was an air-hostess phone thing in the back/front of the plane.
nope.

i like the whole idea for this film... but in my 'mind' 93 was shot down since the wreckage was scattered and the crash zone itself didn't have anything there besides a hole and some fire along with miniscule debris. The whole lets roll story is nice but Cell Phones do not work on air planes at 30000 feet.

theres many possibilities of what happened on 9/11 (many of the conspiracy theories like infowars.com) but one that is interesting is physics911.org (i believe is the site)

not sure if i can buy the theories though, but who knows, if you look at the timeline its also quite interesting (also http://www.unansweredquestions.org/timeline/ is interesting)

so who knows many things are possible

But there wasn't. You can go through history's about "What ifs" all you want, like what if Lincoln had an itch on his foot right as Boothe was pulling the trigger and had to scratch it?
I can't think of anything to put here right now.
