Taking things out of context seems to be a fad in more serious issues as well.

And I hate God for his hate of shrimp.

You're a fool for thinking he wasn't joking. Especially considering the site says "Why stop at calling gays an abomination?" when well...Vinny posted it.

It's not that I think eating shrimp is an abomination... I just don't like shrimp.
There were reasons back then for them not to eat shrimp. Now it doesn't really matter. So... I dunno.
Although I do follow the stuff in Leviticus (to my knowlege) I do it just because it happens to be how I am. Not because I'm trying to follow anything.

For those who don't already know, this site was made as satire against sites such as www.godhatesfags.com and www.godhatesamerica.com.

The problem with the people these days is that they are taking lots of things out of context and/or literal when it should not be and figurative when it should be literal.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Uh...dude, the bible says NOT to eat shellfish because they're unclean. Same with basically everything except for well...beef. God hates all animals except cows.

With a little common sense you can come to the conclusion that shellfish and a lot of the other animals mentioned in the bible (such as pork) are simply harder to prepare and more likely to spread disease if prepared incorrectly. It really has nothing to do with a mandate from god at all. These guys who wrote this stuff put their own observations into it that these animals are 'unclean'

Which is why Jewish people don't eat Pork or Shellfish? No, it literally says they are UNCLEAN and not fit for human consumption, no matter the preparation. I don't have the passage on hand, because I'm not really a religious person, but that's what it says. Seriously.

Actually, I think what really happened is the guy that wrote Leviticus was pinched on the penis by a lobster as a child.

No. You're ALL missing the point. God LOVES shrimp, He doesn't want them to die. He hates all the other animals, so He tells us to eat them.

I'm a religious Jew and I do not eat shrimp and other shellfish, but there is nothing inherently wrong with shellfish etc, as I understand it, only Jews are required to follow that law and a non-jew is allowed to eat shellfish. Non-jews have 7 obligations in judaism: http://www.aish.com/wallcam/7_Noachide_Laws.asp

If you study the diets of "unclean" animals, you'll understand what makes them unclean. Pigs, for example, eat rotten slop.

I do love, however, that "eating [blah blah] animal" gets turned into "God hates [blah blah] animals." That' what I call a classic Massassiism.

Ever hear of this thing called a prepositional phrase? Is says they shall be an abomination to you. And the passages are talking about eating.

See, this is exactly what taking something out of context is about.

Doesn't God say he made us in his own image? If so, why would they be an abomination only to us, and not to him?

Oh, hey, still in context.

He created Adam and Eve in his image. Adam and Eve sinned, and they fell from God. Adam's children were then born in his (now sinful) image, and not God's (perfect) image. Since we are descendants of Adam, and since we are born into sin, we are no longer born in God's image.

Just to clarify.
Moo.

A RC car is made in the image of a real car. Does that mean they have the same hp or top speed, Yosh?

seriously... stop to think before you post.
