Yeah, I definitely sprained something in my foot a few days ago. How you ask? Well I was making fun of my friend and fell down the stairs :). So now I'm on crutches. The problem is that for those who don't know, my campus stretches from the bottom of a hill to the top of it. And my classes are back and fourth from top to bottom. Not exactly handicap friendly. (Well that and the fact that I have a dance coming up on saturday and I'm just learning Choreography for the Mikado and I was supposed to go to my first fencing class yesterday).

So why am I telling you this? Well mostly because I got out of my next class (well it's at upper campus, I e-mailed the professor and I'll just take the quiz while I'm up there for work study. There's no way I can make it up there for this class and back down here for the next) and there's no way I'm going to crutch my lazy butt up to my room only to come down again for class, so I'm trying to while away the hour in the library. Which is a long way of saying I'm bored. talk to me :p (please?)

I did the same thing last year (running while intoxicated is a no-no). All the doc said was "you have a torn ligament, so just wait for it to heal." No crutches or anything! My campus is also quite difficult to navigate, especially in the winter, so I bought myself a cane to get around on  .

It sucks that the dance and choreography are on the back burner now. I hope your recovery goes well. It took me months to walk properly again, and it still feels a bit off.

Karma ;)

Anyway, try to look on the bright side: maybe it'll help tone your arm muscles or something.

So, other than that, how are you? :p

oh are you kidding me? My arms are goign to look fantastic! As will my right leg. quite the workout. Unfortunately the big bruises on my hands from the crutches won't match my gown.

And other than that I'm great!

crutches are deadly, i cant trust them for some reason, oh well, at least you have easy access to beating sticks all the time.

Got out of class, sweet!

I take it you were typing from elsewhere in the school, though... maybe you've already headed off to your next class?

I ain't gonna call her any names. You know why? I see 2 new weapons she's weilding there :p

Seriously though, take it easy (like I have to tell you that) and make sure to beat the crap out of anyone giving you a hard time with those new weapons of yours ;) Or, you know, because they made you look bad, like your friend... <_<

well see I was threatening to pull a cool little move where I swing up on my crutches and kick people in the face, but everyone knew it was an empty threat since I'd be more likely to give myself a concussion. (or break my neck)

Yeah, I was typing from the Library and now I'm using the computer in the music lab because I'm "working"

and Yeah my freinds are making fun of me (my new name is gimpy) but they're also being really cool about helping me out with everything. So while I could crack them over the head with a crutch the next time they make fun of me, then I wouldn't have anyone to get me stuff. (okay well that and I'm usually laughing myself). Ooh and they wrote on my crutches! I now have lots of names and feel betters and I <3 you, along with SLINGSHOT IS A GIMP and I'M SORRY (but you know it was funny) written all over them

Bad Times :(

Don't rush anything and let your yourself heal. Also be careful once it starts to feel better. YOur foot will still be weak and susecpatable to spraining again.

Having broken each ankle, 9 fingers, 4 toes, cracked 3 ribs, broken my right arm, cracked the bone on the top of my head, and completely snapped my clavicle (but not all at once), I can understand what you are going through. Tough times.

[Oh yeah, I had a big gaping hole in my left shouler for a few days. That was the worst.]

I don't think I want to ask how you managed to do all of that.

Anyways, I believe Avenger covered everything that is needed, so I guess all I have to say is hope you get better.

GUESS WHAT! I can stand on it! Well I mean on both feet but with equal weight distribution! Hells yeah! I can kinda walk on it now as long as most of my weight is on my crutches! Maybe I'll be okay by the dance!

Well, like everyone else said, don't rush it. Take the time before the dance to take it easy on that foot still. You gotta be able to cha-cha at your best, after all :)

I witnessed the incident which landed her in the crutches and sat with her in the hospital for 3 hours while she got it x-rayed (I flirted with the sexy male intern) - and I got to see her feeble - yet highly amusing attempts at walking after her injury (we call it the "gimp walk" and its hysterical). Watching her try and dance at the Ball will be something worth recording for posterity (and blackmail). Its ok dear, I'll take care of your date while your lame, we'll got to the casino and have fun. (by the way I was the one who wrote "Slingshot is a Gimp" on her crutches) And besides - she has two dress options - one is burgundy - the other, lavender - either way her bruises will match her dress.

(and there's no danger of her hurting anyone with those crutches while she's standing...when she's sitting down she's rather lethal on them though...anyways I'm her indentured servant till she can walk again (apparently best friends are suppossed to do this - I didn't know or I would have never signed up for the job) and I have fetched "Her Highness" enough cookies to feed an entire hospital of gimps...)

(I don't mind though...now she owe's me one :D )

One of my old friends from school broke her ankle once a few years back, and being one of her closest friends, it was my job to carry her up and down 2 stories of stairs before and after each class and break. Being impatient to help her hop each step down on her one good leg, I instead carried her all the time like prince charming in my arms while she latched at my neck. Aaah the good times. Then for some reason she told me she felt really close with me, that we should take it a step further. rofl. Helping pays, I guess.

yeah, that's how these things go. I sprained my wrist about a month ago by slipping and falling on it when I was mopping the floor, and it has only recently healed. Before that it would feel fine but if I tried to lift something too heavy, it would start to hurt again.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN While I've been trying in vain to hop up and down the stairs all over the place?

Thanks milady. really. It warms my heart to have such kind and noble friends. and you wouldn't have to get me cookies if you did yell at me everytime I tried to get them myself! I could carry them in my mouth, it would have worked! :p
