Is Jedi Knight installed on your computer?
2006-02-02, 9:41 AM #41
Until you folks can come up with a game that offers the fast and furious speed of FF Oasis or the technical gameplay of NF CTF (Tribes is the only thing to come close), I'll be sticking to JK. Don't get me wrong, I play other games, but only when I'm in the mood for leaving snail tracks.

It's not installed, but it's on my computer.
I also have Deus Ex installed, but if you own the game and it isn't installed, you're going to hell.
I've never played Deus Ex. These days, I have no excuse, as I can get the Game of the Year edition of Deus Ex for $0.01 off of amazon.....

It still works on XP, right?

Yep, works on XP just dandy.

But there is nothing impressive about working with an old engine, no matter how hard you push it.

That is precisely my point. It's our old favourite game, and pushing it to its limits is great fun. I wasn't talking about 'impressiveness' at all. It's all about fun.

I don't think you could say 'wasted skills on JK'. It's awesome that there is still a JK community, that's something unique and precious. I wouldn't want to encourage people to leave the community. If you want people to work on QIII so badly, go to a QIII editing community for stuff like that. But, we understand eachother now. lol

It's supprising to see so many massassians talking smack about JK, since this is a JK editing website and all.

I think its one of my favorite games of all time (dont have it anymore though)

I love JK forever.

I still have both JK and MOTS installed.

They are entertaining and take so little hard drive space (compared to more modern games) that there is no real reason not to have them on hand.

Kickass. I'm going to buy it when I get home today (I'm at Uni right now)

Oddly enough, I still have the game installed (only because of the release of Sith 2's Alpha) but I don't have JO/JA installed because I normally uninstall games I don't play .

No, the latest time I had it installed must have been like late 2001 / early 2002. Although it was a great quality game back in the day, there would have to be a really strong reason for me to install it again. It's ugly and outdated in too many ways for me to enjoy a run through SP. I still think, though, that it (including the awesome MotS) was of higher quality than JO/JA, which only seem to have advantages in technology.

Now, I am a Half-Life fanboy, so I've lost my closeness to the JK saga. I like a series that improve as new titles are released.

Sorry Glyde, Deus Ex is my favorite game, but I don't have it installed. If only someone revamped the graphics on that amazing title ....
2006-02-02, 2:32 PM #60
With augmented vision, who needs graphics updates?

I have it installed, but it's collecting dust. I haven't played in years. Or edited in years... although thinking back to my older maps, I can see why I stopped. :o
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I own it, never got farther than Nar Shadaa, played some MP. Then put all my time into editing. Retired, and now I'm here. But yeah it's installed but only because I put all my games on my comp, even if I dont play them.

With the new advancements, I really REALLY have to disagree with you. Sith2, and even JK itself still has an ease in editing that other games have yet to match. Yes, HL2 is rather easy to edit, but NOT in the way that JK is. The ONLY things JK lacks are special shaders and physics: Both things we can give JK with Sith2.

JK is only as dead as you'll let it be. Help out with the cause instead of hammering nails in the coffin.

Yeah, it's installed, I play it regularly, and I edit levels for it.

If I had a better PC, I would edit for the QIII engine, but it wouldn't stop me from playing/editing JK.

On a side note, SITH2 owns.

Whoah, the poll is close. +1 for the installed option.

It is installed, currently all TDIR-ified though. I should find again how to return it to regular JK. XD There's some mods and levels I want to test. Ah well, if all else fails I can uninstall and reinstall.
