Granted, it DOES happen quite a bit, I still think it's hilarious how they try to make it out to be no big deal, and TOTALLY not Dick's fault.

Dick was shooting brown people.
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

It's not totally his fault. The dude who got shot has just as much responsibility.

What's so funny about the headline?

And hunting? Guns? How Republican.
2006-02-12, 3:14 PM #7
I'm not trying to say, "oh, and finally those silly Republicans know why we need gun control," or something silly like that. I'm being apolitical.

But the Vice-President in office shot someone. That's funny. Nobody got hurt. It made me laugh.

My friend and I found this quite funny.

The last two presidential administrations have had guys who have trouble controlling their weapons. (get it?)

Cheney: omg hax!
Whittington: wutever u sux n00b
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Yes, because an accident is good grounds for impeachment.

If it was anyone but Cheney his *** would be on thin ice, with possible jail time. My beef is the fact that Cheney is above the law, regardless of his adamancy to the contrary.

The guy that Cheney shot appears to be a friend of his. What happened didn't seriously scar the guy. I doubt the guy will press any charges.

Cheney even met with the guy at the hospital, and the man appears to be doing fine. It was a common accident, not an alarming criminal offense.

Yeah, if it was anyone but cheney...you never would have heard about it. I would hope that if your friend made a mistake and you made a mistake and he got injured, but not seriously, he wouldn't sue you and send you to jail.

You are wrong.

If the man was KILLED it would be different.

It doesn't matter if the victim decides to sue or not.

Okay, I'm not a lawyer. My point is that this is about as big a deal as a skier breaking his leg or something. You hear "gun" and you all freak out...oh my god HE SHOT HIM. IN THE MOVIES THAT MAKES PEOPLE EXPLODE.

Not necessarily. Neglegence would have to be proven on Cheney's part for anyhting to be considered criminal.

You know, this sort of thing happens.. ALL THE GOD DAMN TIME, AND NOT TO JUST THE VICE PRESIDENT.

It was an accident.

Get the **** over it you hippie.
2006-02-13, 9:16 AM #35
No.

..and seriously... who the hell are you to call me a hippy, Rob? :p

There's a reason hunting accidents are viable alibis--because they do happen all the time.

Tell me where I said that. (Hint: I didn't). I said people should be held accountable when they do happen.

Why? There's a reason laws are in place that you have to wear bright orange vests while hunting. Most hunters don't though.

I assumed by the "no" you were retorting to Rob's argument that they happen all the time. Instead you were saying No to his "STFU".
